BASIC PLUMBING REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY OF PLUMBING WORKS The works includes , but is not limited to the following Furnish all labor , materials , equipment , transportation , and perform all operation as required to install a complete plumbing system in accordance with this specifications and applicable and applicable drawings. Study the drawings and specifications and coordinate Mechanical and Plumbing work with that or architectural and other trades .Report all discrepancies to the Engineer prior to submitting a bid. ALTERNATES There are no plumbing alternates ENGINNEER/ARCHITECH A term “Engineer” shall refer to the mechanical consulting Engineer who seal appear on the mechanical drawings for this project and for the purpose of contractual matters, shall be synonymous with the term “ Architect ” or “Architech”/Engineer” WORK SEQUENCE AND COORDINATION • conditions of the buildings will permit. • Provide on a timely basis the proper trade with all locations and detail as required. • Coordinate in advance with other trades the shape, size and position of all necessary openings, sleeves, support and related to avoid conflicts . STANDARD OF MATERIALS • All material and equipment shall be new and of the latest design of the respective manufacturers .All materials and equipment of the same classifications shall be the product of the same manufacturer other unless otherwise specified. • Where standard have been established by the following, they shall conform to those standards as to quality , fabrication, application, and installation and be not be less the further required under the specifications. 1. American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Unit (ASHRAE) SUBSTITIONS • • • • • • Any proposal for a substitution shall be made in writing by the contractor , who shall submit full details for consideration and obtain written acceptance of the Engineer. Acceptance of a proposed substitution by the engineer shall not relieve the Contract from his responsibility to provide a satisfactory installation of the Work in accordance with the intent of the plans and specification and shall not affect his guarantee covering all parts of the work. Any materials or equipment submitted for acceptance which is differently or of different physical size and/or weight from that shown or specified shall be accompanied by shop drawing indicating the different arrangement of size and the method of making the various connections to the equipment. Any additional cost, by this or other trades resulting from the substitution of equipment shall be paid by this Contractor. Any cost savings resulting from substitution shall be deducted from the contract amount. In the event a proposed substitution for materials or equipment has been rejected ,Engineer will only review subsequent submittals for that materials or equipment that are not substitutes. DEMOLITION • The plumbing contractor shall be responsible for disconnecting the water supply and draining the plumbing system in the existing facility. • DEFINITION • In this section, the word “ furnish” means to supply and deliver to the site ready for installation. The word “install” means to unload and place in proper position at the site and perform all operations necessary for secure mounting and correct operation ready for the intended service or use . The word “provide “ means to furnish and install. WORKMANSHIP • Qualification of Workmen: Use sufficient qualified workman and competent supervisors in the execution of the work to ensure proper and adequate installation of system through and to comply with the project schedule. SAFETY REGULATIONS • All work shall be performed and/or installed to conform to all requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and all amendments there to. TEMPORARY HEAT The mechanical contractor shall comply with the requirements for temporary heat as specified. PERMITS • Apply for, obtain and pay for all permits and inspections required by law and notify proper authorities in ample time for inspections to be made prior to completion of the work. CONTRACT CLOSEOUT Final Cleaning 1. Prior to acceptance to the building, thoroughly clean all exposed portions of the plumbing installation, removing all labels and all traces of foreign substance. 2. Execute final cleaning prior to final inspection. 3. Clean interior and exterior surfaces. Vacuum carpeted and soft surface. 4. Clean debris from site, roof, downspout, and drainage system. 5. Clean all strainers and floor drains. Project Record Documents :Submit the following 1. Record documents and Shop Drawing: Legibly mark each item to record actual constructions. 2. Submit documents to Engineer prior ton claim for final application for payment. Final Adjustment: Provide necessary mechanics and/or engineers as necessary to make final adjustment of operation of the system so that the system and turned over to the owner in first class operating condition . Owner Training: On completion of the job,the Contractor shall provide a competent technician to thoroughly instruct the owners representative in the care and operation of the system. The time of instruction shall be arranged with the owner. Warranties: Warrant all work and materials for a period of one year commencing with the acceptance by the owner of the completed installation in accordance with the Contract Documents .Replace any work,materials,equipment,or system,which develops defects within the warranty period without cost to the Onwer .Specific equipment may require a warranty greater than one year and shall be complied with as noted within the equipment specification.
