Lab Project- Cell Survivor (10 points) Lab members:_________________________________________ Organelle:_______________________ Procedure: Each lab group will pick an organelle name out of a bag. Groups will have 10 minutes to collect information related to the tasks their organelle performs. Students need to be able to explain why their organelle is critical to the cell and what happens in the absence of their organelle, to include any disease conditions. Students will then have 3 minutes per group to present their organelle and defend why they should be allowed to remain in the cell. After all presentations, we’ll play a round of Kahoot. The winning group receives “immunity” from being kicked out of the cell. Then the class will vote which organelle kicked out of the cell. Grading: Teams will be assessed on the accuracy of their presentation and group effort.
