Guidelines and Instructions in Creative Photo-Essay Theme: “Significance of Science Education” A. PHOTO A.1. The student should take a photo of himself/herself together with his/her science textbook(s). A.2. He/she must be creative in choosing an appropriate background or setting to emphasize the subjects [i.e., the person as student of a Science school and the book(s)]. A.3. The photo can be edited or enhanced using photo-editing applications/softwares in iPad or computers. B. ESSAY B.1. The photo must come with an essay (interpretative literary composition dealing with the subject/theme from a personal point of view). B.2. The essay must be a one-paragraph composition, minimum of 10 sentences; maximum of 18 sentences, discussing the central theme. B.3. Guiding questions in constructing essay: What What What What What is the importance of science in schools? is the role of science education in building the future of a science student? is the importance of science education in the environment? is the role of a science teacher in teaching science subjects? are the vital role roles of science education to make a better world possible? C. SHARING C.1. To share your output, post/upload it in social media (Facebook). C.2. You need not gain a number of likes. Posting it is enough to raise awareness about the importance of science. C.3. In case that you don’t have a Facebook account; you may seek help from your parents, classmates, or siblings to share your work in the social media. Requirement in Signing of Clearance SY 2014-2015, Science 5 and 6 C.4. Only Facebook is the social media that you are instructed to use in this requirement. D. Other important matters D.1. You may seek help from your parents, siblings, or classmates in taking a creative photo and in constructing your essay. D.2. Plagiarism or copying someone’s literary piece or photography idea is prohibited. It is punishable by law. D.2. You may tag Sir Fern in Facebook for easy access on your work. D.3. You may submit this requirement on or before the signing of clearance. D.4. This requirement will also be graded under the PROCESS part of KPUP system. D.5. Rubrics in grading the photo essay will be posted in LMS (Edu20) and discussed during science class.
