It is said that “ a Lawyer is incomplete without his research “ well how true is that?
Hi , good morning to all the fellow participants I -________________ welcome you all
to lex loci’s research competition Apud Exploration. As you all must have figured
out by now research is one of the most basic yet the most essential skill a good
Lawyer should possess regardless the area or type of practice or interest. This
competition is all about enhancing as well as testing those skills.
The rules of this competition are very simple:
Each participant will be provided with a computer with internet facility and Google
access.
In the 1st round, each participant will be provided with a brief description of 15
cases.
Each participant shall be given 20 minutes to research on the description and
answer the description with party names and 3 citations.
Only 8 participants shall qualify for the final round.
In case of a tie breaker, facts in brief of landmark judgements shall be provided and
the contestants have to identify the name of the cases. No usage of internet will be
allowed for this round.
I hope all the rules are clear, in case of any doubts please clear them now.

For final round:
First of all a very hearty congratulations all the participants who have qualified for
the final round.
In this final round, all the participants shall be given 6 situational problems and 50
landmark judgements, all participants have to find which case law is relevant to
which problem.
Each participant shall be allotted 60 minutes for the same.

A quiz is not only for the nerds , geeks or the book worms, but is also for those who
think and believe that knowledge is power. It doesn’t matter how many pages of a
book read , it only matters how much knowledge one gains from that reading.
Hi everyone this is ____________ on behalf on lords universal college of law
welcoming you to the exciting , challenging and a little different legal quiz
competition in Lex Loci 2018.
I say different as this competition is not only going to test your knowledge on our
syllabus, current affairs or the general legal knowledge but also your reflexes and
spontaneity, here’s how,
There are going to be a total of 3 rounds
The 1st round being the fastest finger first, the second round is the visual and
buzzer round and the third and final round is the rapid fire round.
Negative marking shall be done only in the final round. Negative marking of 0.50
marks for each wrong answer

Legal Drafting:
Hi everyone this is ____________ on behalf of lord’s universal college of law
welcoming you to a competition made for the master and juggler of words.
We all know how long all writ petitions, suits, contracts and other written
submissions and statements to be submitted in various courts and forums are
right? Doesn’t an advocate’s life revolve around hours of drafting?
Well yes it does, and why not start practicing it right from college days? This
competition as the name suggests .is all about those drafting skills.
This competition of legal drafting is not only going to test your legal knowledge or
your play of words but also your originality, applicability , extent of research ,
feasibility of the draft and most importantly the scope of your draft.
Each Participant shall only mention their registration code on the right hand
corner , any other form of identification shall lead to disqualification.
Participants are allowed to use only bare acts for reference . use of mobile phones
& the internet is strictly prohibited.
All participants shall be allotted 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the draft.

As lawyers, when clients approach us, the first meeting Is all about how
comfortable we make them feel and how concerned we are about their problem,
this client counselling competition aims to enhance, develop and polish those skills
involved in client interviewing or counselling and centres on simulated law office
interview. The main aim of this competition is to promote a healthy lawyer-client
relationship.
The rules of the competition are:
The participants are required to provide suitable legal solution to their clients
Each participant shall be given only 15 minutes for the meeting.
Each participant shall be judged on their ability to provide a practical legal
solution, the ability to evaluate the client’s problems and their overall performance.
Decision of the Judges shall be final and binding.

This competition provides a platform for the youth to not only develop their
speaking skills, confidence and poise but also enables them to organise their
thoughts and express both affirmative and negative ideas about a given topic
spontaneously.
To clarify the rules of this competition :
Each participant shall have 2 minutes to prepare for the chosen topic and a
maximum of 4 minutes to speak on the same topic.
The opening order and the ring of the bell shall be on the judge’s discretion .
