1-6. WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR MANAGERS IN USING OB
CONCEPTS?
There are many challenges and opportunities for managers in using OB concepts.
1.IMPROVING PEOPLE’S SKILLS
Actually, technology changes, environmental changes are accelerated at faster rate in this
world. This also happens in business. The employees should get the require skills to adapt with
the changes, so they can achieve the target. The skills that employees can improve including
managerial skills, technical skills, listening skills, motivating skills, planning and organizing skills,
leading skills, leading skills, problem solving skills and decision- making skills. These skills can be
enhanced by organizing a series training and development programs and career development
programs.
2.MANAGING WORKFORCE DIVERSITY
There are many differences categories of employees who are heterogenous in terms of gender,
race, ethnicity, community and others. The primary reason to employ the heterogenous
category of employees is to get the talents and potentialities, harnessing the innovativeness,
obtaining synergetic effort among the divorce workforce. The main challenge for organizations
is to become more accommodating to diverse group of people by addressing their different life
styles, family needs, and work styles.
3.RESPONDING TO GLOBALIZATION
Today, business is mostly market driven. The demands exist irrespective of distance, locations
and climatic conditions. Today, the main objective of business is to gain their market share and
get the top ranking and remain in the top rank. Business operations are no longer restricted to
a particular locality and region. The company’s products or services are spreading across the
nations. The company’s products or services will not only sell in the local market but it will
maybe sell in overseas. This can happen by using mass communication, the internet and faster
transportation.
4.STIMULATING INNOVATION AND CHANGE
Today, the successful organizations must foster innovation and be proficient in the art of
change. If they not do it, they will become candidates for extinction in due coursed of time.
They will also be vanished from their business. The organizations that will get the victory is the
organizations that maintain flexibility, continually improve their quality, and beat the
competition to the market place with a constant stream of innovative products and services.
For example, Apple putting their products to market quicker than the bigger competitors.
5.IMPROVING CUSTOMER SERVICE
Organizational Behavior can contribute to improving an organizational performance by showing
how employees’ attitude and behavior are associated with customer satisfaction. In that case,
service should be the first production oriented by using technological opportunities like a
computer and the internet. To improve, the customer service needs to provide sales service
and also the after sales service.
