Dusty Peterson & Elizabeth McDonald So let’s see what Rick Warren has to tell us about the importance of Doctrine….. does it really matter? Rick Warren: “God won’t ask about your religious background or doctrinal views.” PDL Page 34 LET'S SEE WHAT THE APOSTLE PAUL THOUGHT ABOUT DOCTRINE: Doctrine doesn’t matter? So why did the apostle Paul spend so much time and effort warning us about doctrines of demons? Why bother to even warn the Galatians who had been bewitched? More of what Paul thought about doctrinal views: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” —2 Timothy 3:16 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears.” —2 Timothy 4:3 “Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.” —Titus 1:9 WHAT THE APOSTLE JOHN THOUGHT OF DOCTRINAL VIEWS: “If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed.” —2 John 1:10 WHAT JESUS THOUGHT OF DOCTRINAL VIEWS: And God won’t ask about doctrinal views? Well, Jesus Christ (who is God) also did not agree with Rick Warren regarding the importance of doctrine, as we read His words directly to the church in Pergamum in the Book of Revelation: “But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate.” — Revelation 2:14–15 Doctrinal views do matter! Warren’s belittling the importance of sound doctrine might explain why so few in his congregation and those who have become Rick Warren churches, have opposed him. What does Rick Warren say about Prophecy? Rick Warren: “That is why Jesus talked more about money than he did about either heaven or hell.” PDL page 267 Is that true? Of course it isn't! The word “heaven” appears 144 times in the Gospels alone, and this does not even include all of the references to heaven in the Book of Revelation . . . remember it is Jesus speaking in this book where it occurs fifty-six times. So what about the occurrences of the word “hell” in the Gospels alone? “Hell” appears fifteen times, plus four in Revelation. But this is not the only term used for hell. “Lake of fire” is also used, which occurs four times. “Outer darkness” occurs four times. So let’s add the total number of times Jesus refers to heaven and hell in the Gospels and the Book of Revelation. The total is: 223 where Jesus talks about heaven and hell, compared to sixteen times he talks about money. So Rick Warren is wrong once again! Rick Warren: “When the disciples wanted to talk about prophecy, Jesus quickly switched the conversation to evangelism. . . . If you want Jesus to come back sooner, focus on fulfilling your mission, not figuring out prophecy.” Purpose Driven Life, P. 285-286 Is that what Jesus said? Of course not! He spent the entire discourse on the Road to Emmaus during the 40 days after His Resurrection tell his disciples how he was the fulfilment of prophecy! The Entire Olivet Discourse Jesus explains prophetic events and why we should be warned AHEAD OF TIME!!!! See Matthew Chapter 24 Mark Chapter 21 and Luke Chapter 16 So apparently Jesus thought it was an important enough topic to tell his disciples And the beginning of Revelation, Jesus promises a blessing to all who read and heed the words of this Prophecy. See Rev. 1:3 Or the Apostle Paul’s words to Timothy: “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare.” I Timothy 1:18 And…. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16.” So isn’t prophecy part of all Scripture? YES!!! In fact, it is a very large part of Scripture and the crown Jewel of Christianity and why we are holding this conference So Rick Warren is simply wrong for suggesting that Christians who are simply obeying Christ’s own words re prophecy are distracted and not fit for the Kingdom! Here is what Rick Warren’s SHAPE acronym stands for: • Spiritual gifts—God-given abilities to do kingdom work • Heart—Areas of passion or burden in your life • Abilities—Skills you have developed or acquired • Personality—Your natural bent • Experiences—Both good and bad We are going to focus on the “P” in SHAPE In other words “Personality” Which we will prove is rooted in Both Psychiatrist and occultist Dr. Carl Jung as well as in Paganism. But is found NOWHERE in Scripture “Your personality will affect how and where you use your spiritual gifts and abilities.” Rick Warren, Pastors.com There is not one single Scripture to support this! But God does use our character to determine how we serve! “When you minister in a manner consistent with your personality God gave you, you experience fulfillment, satisfaction, and fruitfulness.” Rick Warren Pastors.com WRONG! Fruitfulness is the fruit of the Spirit, not our personality! Rick Warren: “….two people may have the same gift of evangelism, but one is introverted and the other is extroverted.” “…there is not a ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ temperament. We need opposites to balance the church.” PDL pp. 245-246 So, did Rick Warren get these terms and concepts from the Bible? Of course, he did not! But I can tell you where he did get them…. He got both the terms and the personality theory concepts behind them from Dr. Carl Jung And Who is Dr. Carl Jung? He was Psychiatrist and Disciple of Atheist Sigmund Freud And what did Dr. Carl Jung think of Christianity? Slowly I came to understand that this communion had been a fatal experience for me. It had proved hollow; more than that, it had proved to be a total loss. I knew that I would never again be able to participate in this ceremony. "Why, that is not religion at all," I thought. "It is the absence of God; the church is a place I should not go to. It is not life which is there, but death." C. G. Jung. Memories, Dreams, Reflections, ed. by Aniela Jaffe, trans. by Richard and Clara Winston. New York: Pantheon, 1963, p. 55. And where did Carl Jung get his Psychoanalysis ideas of personality theory? From a demonic spirit guide he named Philemon, Paganism the practice of Astrology, Taoism and a belief in Evolution In other words... Divination and Sorcery!! And where did Warren’s concept of balancing personality opposites come from? Balancing or reconciling opposites is another concept of personality theory drawn directly from Carl Jung’s invoking Taoism’s yin and yang (female, male). Jung’s terms for yin and yang were “animus” and “anima,” which Jung described as “psychological bisexuality.”… and that all human beings are bisexual.. In fact, one of the reasons Carl Jung rejected the Orthodox Doctrine of Christ was that it teaches Christ is ONLY good and not balanced with evil! “...that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.–1 John 1:5!” CARL JUNG'S HUMAN PSYCHE & PERSONALITY THEORY CONSCIOUS False self PSYCHOTHERAPY*: HYPNOSIS DREAMS FREE ASSOCIATION IMAGINATION NECROMANCY DIVINATION *Note: No Holy Spirit or Prayer to unlock or access the subconscious, assuming it even exists, or if we even have any business tampering with it. Now it is clear there is no Scriptural basis for these magic arts Let’s see if they even scientifically hold up… According to a study by Dr. David J. Pittenger: “Several studies have shown that when retested, even after intervals as short as five weeks, as many as 50 percent will be classified into a different type.” So Rick Warren is not only going to practice these personality theories derived from divination and magic arts, he is recommending in this book that we practice them! Even worse, he will require you to participate in his magic arts in order to become a member of his church…because remember you signed a pledge of unity…one more thing prohibited by Christ himself! These oaths and required encumbrances saddled upon Christians would have been burdens not even the Pharisees could have dreamed! In addition to the two chapters in my book devoted to the Carl Jung roots of Rick Warren’s SHAPE Personality Profiling, I invite you to read the article: “Carl Jung, Neo-Gnosticism, and the Myers-Briggs Temperament Indicator (MBTI)” in Appendix C of my book “Who’s Driving the Purpose Driven Church?” And…..our Rick Warren/Carl Jung Personality Theory Comparison Chart in Appendix D and for those who do oppose Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Life teachings….what’s in store for them? First, let me tell you where Rick Warren is going from here: Purpose Driven Community Global P.E.A.C.E. Plan (which he says is certain to succeed!) At Warren's 25th Anniversary at stadium in Anaheim....he promotes his Global Peace plan by SINGING JIMMY HENDRIX'S DRUG-INDUCED “PURPLE HAZE” “Purple haze all in my brain ... Don’t know if I’m comin’ up or down Am I happy or in misery? ... What ever it is, that girl put a spell on me... So far out my mind... “Don’t know if it’s day or night You got me blowin’, blowin’ my mind Is it tomorrow, or just the end of time? .......... You’re makin’ me blow my mind...mama Purple haze, n-no, nooo Purple haze, no, it’s painful, baby” SOME LEADERS IN RICK WARREN'S GLOBAL P.E.A.C.E. Here is the most glaring quote in it: "Working toward this miraculous transformation, re-birth, or inner alchemy is the true purpose of life. This transformation is what the West calls "conversion" and the East "enlightenment," and is the fruit of our commitment to the authentically purposeful life that Father Christian described so well" And here is the RC and the new Pope "Benedict" connection: http://www.mepkinabbey.org/who_we_are.htm August Turak's Self Knowledge Website reading list: http://www.selfknowledge.org/resources/resources.htm includes occultist Carl Jung's Memories, Dreams, Reflections the autobiography Buddhist Zen Master Richard Rose Rick Warren Teams Up With New-Age Guru Ken Blanchard! (Source: LighthouseTrails.com) Apr 19, 2005 While Rick Warren is gearing up to train a billion people, unbeknownst to many he has also been teamed up with New Age and contemplative promoter, Ken Blanchard, for some time now. ...... He has hired Ken Blanchard .... to come to Saddleback to help train people how to be effective leaders." p. 193 In light of knowing who Ken Blanchard is, this is shocking and devastating news for the church! There is countless evidence to show that Blanchard sits on the New Age/mystical/contemplative bandwagon. Blanchard believes in the benefits and use of mantra meditation, yoga and has no trouble borrowing from Buddhism. Here are just a few examples: Wrote the foreword to Jim Ballard's Mind Like Water Wrote the foreword to Franz Metcalf's What Would Buddha Do At Work? Is on the Front Cover of Corporate Mystic-(Listen) Is on the Back Cover of Deepak Chopra's 7 Spiritual Laws of Success Jim Ballard, a staunch New Ager, and a colleague of The Ken Blanchard Companies Wrote the Foreword to Ellen Tadd's (clairvoyant) book, Death and Letting Go. RICK WARREN'S ANOTHER GOSPEL IN LADIES HOME JOURNAL 1. Warren: “Accept yourself…God accepts us unconditionally…” Does God accept us without Christ? Does He accept us even when we reject Him and/or willfully disobey His Word? The truth is; Hell is never mentioned in the article; neither is sin, repentance, redemption or the cross of Christ; only God’s “unconditional acceptance” of everyone reading the Ladies Home Journal, Christian or not. 2. Warren: “Love yourself” “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself…” – Matthew 16:24 3. Warren: “Be true to yourself…consider your heart – what you love to do – as well as the strengths and weaknesses of your personality…Don’t deny your weaknesses…be content with them.” vs. Scripture: “The heart is wicked above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”– Jeremiah 17:9 4. Warren: “Forgive yourself…God doesn’t expect perfection…” “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”– Matthew 5:48 ...." Be ye holy," (1 Peter 1:16) 5. Warren: “Believe in yourself…The truth is God has created you with talents, abilities, personality and background in a combination that is uniquely you.” vs. Scripture: The Lord has NEVER ONCE instructed us to “believe in ourselves!” This is the world’s religion – the heart of humanism and “the pride of life” that the Bible repeatedly warns us against! “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”– Isaiah 64:6 “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”– Jeremiah 17:5 “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. ”– Matthew 16:24 SPIRITUAL EUTHANASIA A PARABLE OF THE PURPOSE DRIVEN CHURCH PURPOSE DRIVEN CHRISTIANITY ....A WAY THAT SEEMS RIGHT UNTO MAN, OR WHO'S END IS DESTRUCTION? "First they came for “resisters” and “pillars” of Brunswick Reformed Church, Brunswick, Ohio because they opposed Purpose Driven Life and Church, but I didn't speak up because I was not a member of Reformed Church of American (RCA) denomination. Then they held a trial for two families at Valley Baptist Church in Lakeland, Minnesota, but I didn't speak up because I was not a member of the General Baptist Convention. Then they came after 165 members of Gardendale Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, Texas and ran them out of the church, but I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Southern Baptist Then a news reporter for a large Christian radio network sounded the alarm on His Holy Hill of this clear and present danger. They ran the story, but received more gnashing of teeth from callers then they had ever had, so they censored this story from their Agape Press print media news service. Then they came after a carpenter and his wife at Calvary Community Church in Phoenix, Arizona with the police and a sheriff and escorted him out of the church and off of the grounds for trying to expose the deeds of darkness and the teachings of Rick Warren, telling him that if he returned, he would be arrested. But I didn't speak up because I wasn't a member of the Calvary Chapel denomination Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak up for me, because every church in the nation had become Purpose Driven and part of his Global PEACE Plan."
