Zoo Exhibit Midterm Project Standards Mastery Assessment Have you ever been to the zoo? Going to the zoo is a great way to see and learn about living things from around the world. Imagine you work for a zoo in your local city and have been asked to set up a new exhibit entitled The Diversity of Animals. Your Task: Design an exhibit that highlights the different groups of animals in the animal kingdom and their characteristics. Be sure to -show the differences in shapes and forms of animals. -show the similarities/differences in the ways in which groups of animals carry out basic life processes (circulation, respiration, excretion, movement, response, feeding). -design the exhibit so that it is clear and engaging to guests. Your Product: Create a presentation detailing the setup (blueprint/map) of your exhibit and the key features of each enclosure. Your product may be a poster, a diorama, an interview (recording or typed transcript), a scrapbook, or a presentation booklet. Your Timeline: This is a three-day project. Exhibit is organized and clear, but it could be more engaging to visitors. 8 pts- Project is turned in one day late. 20 Exhibit reveals a limited understanding of animals and the ways they carry out life processes. Exhibit needs improvement in clarity and organization. It is somewhat engaging. 6 pts- Project is turned in two days late. 10 Exhibit reveals significant misunderstandings about animals and the ways they carry out life processes. Exhibit is very unclear and disorganized. It is not engaging. 4 pts- Project is turned in three days late. Exhibit contains little to no information about animals and the way they carry out life processes.
