Summary Writing: Musthave Techniques

At the beginning of the passage, we learn that the author was
happy, but as the day progressed, her feeling changed,
depending on the circumstances.
Imagine you are the author. Using your own words as far as
possible, write an account of your feelings as the day progressed
and the reasons why you felt that way.
USE ONLY MATERIAL FROM PARAGRAPHS 5-30.
Your summary, which should be in continuous writing (not note
form) must not be more than 150 words (not counting the words
given to help you begin).

Locate the part of the passage to be summarize, that is, the lines or
the paragraphs.

Draw a line above and below it.
3)
Strike out what is before and after it.

Look for the keywords in the question

square (BE NEAT)
COUNT your points (18-21points)
COMBINE 2/3 points per sentence.
For every 5-6 words, there MUST be AT LEAST ONE POINT.
If there is NO point in that 5-6 words, CANCEL IT!
