Hello my dear readers. Previous blog was about three mysterious legends in Astana and in
this blog I intend to continue writing about horror places. In this blog I will tell you about
several places, where something paranormal occurred.
Kapchagay is a city full of
mysterious phenomena
I am from Kapchagay city which is located near Almaty.
I have lived there for 15 years and I know the city like
the back of one's hand. Acquaintances were always
telling me about car accidents on Kapchagay-Almaty
road which occurred very often. I heard a number of
horror stories about ghosts on Kapchagay-Almaty road
but I did not believe them until trouble happened with
me.

It was in 2013 on 3rd of October when I was going home by taxi from Almaty at around 6 pm.
There were woman with her daughter and me in the taxi. We were going with average speed,
and suddenly a car at high speed from oncoming road turned to our side. Woman with her
daughter began crying because car was going directly to us and I was just speechless.
Luckily, the car did not bump into our car but hit four cars behind us. On that day there were
twelve car accidents and unfortunately there were deaths. Driver of the car survived and he
asserted that abruptly a girl appeared on the road and he wanted to avoid a collision with her.
Although I was sure that there was nothing. Experts showed that his blood did not contain
alcohol or drugs. Citizens of Kapchagay believe that the road was constructed over the
graveyards of famine victims and ghosts of victims make car accidents by appearing on the
road. Statistics show that once in four days car accident occurs and every month five people
die. There were scientists and clairvoyants who confirmed that the road is constructed in an
anomalistic zone. Now the road is reconstructing and may be graveyards will be shifted.
Also Kapchagay is well-known with its reservoir. People from another part of the country and
Russians always visit our
city in summer, despite
notorious ghost stories
about reservoir.

told me that, firstly there was only steppe with a few houses for workers and there were a
number of graveyards of Almaty Region and then reservoir was made above the graveyards.
1990s was spookiest years in Kapchagay because at that time a lot of people sank into the
reservoir and bodies of some people had not found yet. As locals approve, ghosts of
graveyards pull people in the reservoir and take them to their world.
Two thousand year old ghost
The most horrible event happened with me
when I visited Esik (city where Goldman and
Graves with 5BC story discovered). I went to
Esik with my classmates to look at some
artifacts. There are two big graves (for
officials) and forty small graves (for ordinary

people). Guides conducted us and showed artifacts. All was fascinating, but when guide was
showing one of two big graves (graves were like hemisphere, with a door) I noticed that
someone was there and begged off to look at the grave. Firstly, I thought that there was
someone from staff but when I was approaching to grave, something or someone with red
bloody eye was looking at me from the grave. I without a peep broke into a run. I came to the
guides and said what I saw. Guides were laughing, but one of them told me that something
like this happened with him too. According to a legend, when archeologists discovered
graves, they marked that both of them were for officials (in that time people buried with their
wealth) and one of them was burglarized. Ghost of burglarized grave rages and appears
because want to back his wealth.
Dead Lake
Dead Lake is located in the middle of hills in Taldykorgan city. The Lake is called dead

because the lake has not any flora or fauna and temperature of the lake is cool even there is
a hot summer. When I was in Taldykorgan in 2010 I had wanted to see Dead Lake with own
eyes. It was a summer time, me and my friends went to the lake and noticed that temperature
of lake is really cool and we were surprised. We wanted to swim but there was a sign
prohibiting it. We had a rest near the lake till evening. Suddenly one of my friends Abzal woke
us. He was looking at the lake and was bawling: “Come on… you must look at this…” We
immediately run to the lake, but there were nothing. Abzal assured that he saw light at the
bottom of the lake but we did not believe him. Interestingly, locals of Taldykorgan saw
unknown flying objects near the lake and someone think that lake is the stop place for aliens.
Unfortunately, scientist cannot explain these phenomena.
Mystical events often happen with me and if there anyone like me, they can send their stories
and I will publish in my blogs.
