Me and my
school!
Year 3 Autumn term
Visits, visitors and
websites!
How you can support
your child’s learning!
Visits and visitors form an important
part of our children’s learning. By
immersing children in high quality first
hand experiences they should not only
enjoy their learning but also produce
high quality work.
At Trewirgie Maths and English are ever-present
focus subjects in our curriculum. These subjects are
essential aspects of your child’s learning and are
each taught for an hour every day. In addition to
this, children will use and apply their developing
maths and English skills across a range of other
subjects in their termly topics. This leaflet will give
you an idea of the knowledge and skills to be taught
in these topics this term.
This term we will be going on the following
visits or have visits from the following people:
ü Cornish Records library
ü Cornish studies library
ü Jason-Hoole Jackson – photographer
ü Ex pupils from Trewirgie Junior School

learning

We believe it is important that along side the work
that the children learn in school they have the
opportunity to work independently too.
Noughts and crosses!
Each term every child will have a ‘noughts and
crosses’ grid linked to their topic. On this there are 9
additional learning tasks that children can do both
at home and at school. We hope you get involved in
this learning too!
