Subject:
Converting TO-360-C1A6D engines to the new fuel injected TIO-360-C1A6D
configuration.
Description:
Informations necessary to convert LYCOMING engine TO-360-C1A6D by the LYCOMING
Fuel Injection kit LW-18866 and the PARTENAVIA modification kit 68-039 Rev. 2 are
described.
Models affected & S/N:
P68C-TC up to S/N 289-21TC included.

This is a complete revision of this Service Instruction.
This one is issued in order to comply the new LYCOMING Flow Divider and the new P68C-TC
Fuel System configuration.
Following instructions should not be applied to the aircraft power system unless authorized by
the engine manufacturer.
Instructions:
1.
Turn “OFF” all electrical switches and disconnect the ground from the battery.
2.
Drain completely fuel from tanks.
3.
Remove cabin ceiling panels in the wing area.
4.
Remove the wing fuselage fairings.
5.
Remove the engine cowlings (ref. Section F of the M.M.).
6.
Remove the inboard and outboard wing leading edges.
7.
Place a trestle under frame no. 16.
8.
Remove the propellers (ref. Section F of the M.M.).
9.
Remove the engine (ref. Section F of the M.M.).
10.
Remove the mixture control cable brackets (item 19, fig. 6a.4 of the Parts Catalog).
11.
Remove the electric fuel pumps, fuel filters and fuel selector valves from the brackets
on the wing (item 19, 30 and 39, fig. 7a.1 of the Parts Catalog).
12.
Remove the above mentioned bracket from the wing (item 10, fig. 7a.1 of the Parts
Catalog).
13.
Remove the fuel lines (items 28, 36, 38, 44, 45, 48, 49, 50, fig. 7a.1 of the parts
Catalog).
14.
Remove the electric Primers (item 51, fig. 7a.1 of the Parts Catalog).
15.
Remove the hoses (item 56, 59, fig. 7a.1 of the Parts Catalog)
16.
Remove the switches and electrical connections of the fuel Primers system.
17.
Remove the “CARBURATOR HOT AIR” placard from the instrument panel.
18.
Remove the Fuel Pressure Indicators from the instrument panel.
19.
Remove the Dual Manufold Air Pressure indicator from the instrument panel.
20.
Remove the Carburator Air Temperature indicator from the instrument panel.
21.
Remove the Turbine Inlet Temperature indicator from the instrument panel.
22.
Remove the line brackets from wing (items 31, 34, 35, 46, fig. 7a.4 of the Parts
Catalog).
23.
Remove the line clamps (item 36, fig. 7a.4 of the Parts Catalog).
24.
Convert the engines by using LYCOMING LW 18866 kit and relevant LYCOMING SSP584 Special Instructions.

Install the new mixture control cable brackets (P/N 7.5121-2) in place of the removed
old brackets (see point 10 of these instructions), by using the two lower horizontal
attachment points on the existing flanged tube.
26.
Install the new brackets (P/N 7.1211-1/2) on the wing (item 1, attached fig. 7a.1.1 (rev.
6) of the Parts Catalog).
27.
Install the new line brackets (P/N 1.2231-1/2) (item 29, attached fig. 7a.4.1 (rev. 6) of
the Parts Catalog) on the engine upper firewalls by using MS20615-4M4 rivets and
AVDEL 4831-0407/0405 blind rivets, in place of the removed old line brackets (see
point 21 of these instructions).
28.
Install the new line bracket (P/N 7.1217-2) (item 39, attached fig. 7a.4.1 (rev.6) of the
Parts Catalog) on the wing by using AVDEL 4801-0409 blind rivets, in place of the
removed old line bracket (see point 21 of these instructions).
29.
Install the new line brackets (P/N 7.1217-4/3) (item 32, attached fig. 7a.4.1 (rev.6) of
the Parts Catalog) on the wing, in place of the removed old line brackets (see point 21
of these instructions).
30.
Update Fuel System, Manifold, Fuel Flow and Fuel Pressure Indicating Systems
according to attached fig. 7a.1.1, 7a.4.1 and 7a.4.2 (rev.6) of the Parts Catalog.
31.
Install the new Turbine Inlet Temperature indicator on the instrument panel, in place of
the removed old indicator, together the adapter (P/N 7.1063-1) which has to be
installed by using the screws AN507-B632R12 and nuts AN364-632A.
32.
Install the “ALTERNATE AIR” placard (P/N 8.2103-11) on the instrument panel, in place
of the removed “CARBURATOR HOT AIR” placard.
33.
Reinstall the engines (ref. Section F of the M.M.)
NOTE: Before engine installation, apply Jointing Compound S15/9 type (DTD 369-A) or
equivalent to shank of the engine mount attachment bolts.
34.
Reinstall the propellers (ref. Section F of the M.M.)
35.
Fill fuel tanks.
36.
Connect the ground to battery.
37.
Turn “ON” the fuel electric pumps and check for leaks on lines.
38.
Sign with paint the reference lines on the fuel fittings.
39.
Reinstall the inboard and outboard wing leading edges.
40.
Reinstall the engine cowlings.
41.
Reinstall the wing-fuselage fairings.
42.
Reinstall the cabin ceiling panels in the wing area.
43.
Start engines and run-up.

NOTE: If necessary, with engine running, bleed air from fuel pressure and fuel flow
indicator by loosing the unions on the instrument back faces, to be locked
when the fuel flow is uninterrupted.
