The Open Hearth, Inc., a non-profit organization in Hartford, has been a respected community resource since
1884, when a group of business, religious, and community leaders began what has evolved into an innovative
residential program for homeless and addicted men in recovery. The agency offers a model of care, including
an overnight shelter and transitional living program. Our caring, professional staff provide support to residents
in the areas of addiction recovery, educational initiatives, life skills, and career planning. We regularly see
measurable improvement in the lives of hundreds of men who seek our help every year.
