INSTRUCTION FOR USERS
1. INSTALLATION
Congratulation on your purchase of this DESIGNER'S PHONE. This phone is designed with finishing
touch by renowned Scandinavian designer. It is a state of art device created with consideration of form
and function.
This DECT phone could only work under constant main power supply. It is advisable that another corded
phone (works without main power supply) is connected to your phone system for emergency call purpose
in case of power failure.
This designer's phone is powered with latest digital technology- DECT system (Digitally Enhanced
Cordless Telecommunication). It brings you digital sound, penetrating range and user-friendly
menu-driven functions.
1. On the base unit, connect one end of the line cord to the jack provided Symbol of Telephone mark
on the base unit, and connect the other end to the wall outlet for telephone.
According to the DECT system standard (GAP compatible), 5 different handsets (sold separately) can
be registered to a single base unit to perform function of a mini-PABX system which offers you functions
of intercom and call transfer between handsets.
In addition, its built-in caller ID decoder, pre-dial function, phone book, redial list and caller ID memory
provide you great convenience to manage your phone calls.
This Instruction for Users briefly describes the installation procedures and all built-in features at a glance.
2. On the base unit, insert the power connector of the adapter to the jack provided Symbol of adapter
mark on the base unit, and connect the adapter plug to the main wall outlet.
3. On the handset, remove the battery compartment cover, and install batteries in the battery
compartment, then replace battery compartment cover.
4. Put the handset onto the charge cradle. make sure charge indicator Symbol of Charge on the base
unit lights up to show charging in progress.
5. Please refer to appendix A for desktop installation and appendix B for wall mount installation.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
To obtain best battery performance, keep the handset being charged for 15 hours after first time installation.
Optional Product Package
Depending on product package (refer to information on packaging), additional handsets with stand alone
charging units may be included in package.
Simply insert battery pack to the additional handset as described above, and connect power adapter
of standalone charging unit to the wall outlet. Then you may put additional handset onto standalone
charging unit for initial 15 hours recommended charging.

This button functions as flash or recall to switch between 2 lines

Press this button once and your voice will not pass through the
microphone. To resume, press the same button again. This button
also functions as cancel / escape when entered into menu
programming mode.
Push this button to review phone book memories.
Push this button during conversation to adjust receiver/ear piece
volume from 1 to 5. Push this button followed by numeric button 1
to 5 to set desired volume level. This button also functions as ringer
selection switch in standby mode.

This feature enables you to call all handsets subscribed to the base set.
1. The handsets are in standby mode (no tone).

5. To stop the handset from ringing, shortly press the

5. Audio Control
5.1 Mute
The function enabIes you to disconnect the microphone of the handset to prevent the other
party from hearing you.
- During a telephone conversation press the
key to switch off the microphone.
- The symbol
is displayed.

The symbol will disappear.

Adjust earpiece volume
During a call, press the
key to enter volume set mode.
Press 1-5 (1-lowest. 5-highest) to select earpiece volume.

In standby mode, press the

SECTION E point 6 for more details.
11. Headset Connection (Optional)
Depending on your purchased package, some package will come with the headset connection
function.
You can connect a headset with a 3 pole jack plug of 2.5 mm on the right side of the handset.
When the headset jack is connected, you can only hear and talk through the headset. The
headset microphone can still be muted by the
key. The handsfree speaker can still be
activated by pressing the
key.
6. Flash
- During external call, press the
key to make a line flash.
- The icon
will be off for 0.5 second.
7. Handsfree
- In talk mode, press the
key to enable or disable the speaker. The icon
to indicate that the handset is in speaker phone mode,

10. Conference Call (3-Party Call)
If you have more than one handset to your DECT phone you can hold a three party
conference:
- During an external call press the

PHONE BOOK OPERATION
1. Storing a Number in the phone book
A phone book entry consists of a number and a name.
- Input the number in standby mode.
- Press the
key.
- Input the name by using the numeric key

- The handset emits a long tone and the name & number are stored in the phone book memory.
- The handset emits 3 beeps when the memory is full.
Notes:
- The name is mandatory. It is not possible to store a telephone number without a name.
- Phone book memory will be sorted by name.
- When inputing a name like for instance "ANN" with a double "N", a 1 sec.delay is necessary before
the second "N" can be input.
The characters in the table below can be used in names for phone book entries. These are also the
characters that can be used as search characters for phone book search.
The letters and characters in the table below are found by pressing
CALLER ID OPERATION
If the CID service is available from your network provider and you subscribe to it, the number
of the caller will be shown on the display when there is a call. If you use FSK system, the name of
the caller will also be displayed as well as the date and time of the call.
Note :
If the call is from abroad the display will show “
” and if the call is private (restricted) the
display will show “
” instead of the telephone number.

It is possible to subscribe more than one handset to the same base. Do as follows:

- Now, the base set is in subscribing mode. All following operations must be performed while the
line / charge indicator is flashing quickly.

Special Attention!!!
Following sections are only for users who are familiar with electronics products. Failure in following
steps correctly may stop your DECT phone from normal operation.
According to the DECT system standard (GAP compatible), a base unit can be registered to work with
multiple numbers of handsets, and a handset unit can also be registered to work with multiple numbers
of base units. While maximum numbers of handset and base unit matrix is designed by individual makers.
In principle, your DECT phone (base unit and handset) work with any makes of digital cordless phone
in DECT system (GAP compatible). However, it is only advised to register handsets to unit base from
the same marker to achieve complete functions offered by the maker.
The electronics of this DECT phone systerm works with maximurn 5 handsets and 4 bases from the
same maker. This could perform function of a mini-PABX system to offer you functions of intercom,
call transfer and conference call between handsets.
The following sections will show you steps in setting up your DECT phone with advanced multi-handset
and multi-base operation.
1. PIN (PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER)
There is a PIN protection in settings of advanced operations, like call barring, registration of new
handset and subscribe to a new base unit.
Factory default PIN is 0000.
You may change your PIN in the following steps:- Press the

2. HOW TO REGISTER ADDITIONAL HANDSET TO A BASE UNIT
Depending on product package, some package will come with more than 1 handset. If more than 1
handset is packaged inside the same box, all handsets are usually registered to the base unit at the
factory. There should not be any registration work at part of consumer.
If additional handset is purchased separately or at a later stage, handset registration (base subscription)
can be done by going through the following procedures:-

On the handset - Now, the base set is in subscribing mode. All following operations must be performed while
the line / charge indicator is flashing quickly.

Repeat the above procedures to register another additional handset to the base unit if any. Please
take note that each base unit can register up to maximum 5 handsets only. The base unit will reject
subscription if there have been already 5 handsets registered with the base unit. You may remove
any unused handset from the base unit to move room for new handsets.
3. HOW TO REMOVE HANDSET FROM A BASE UNIT
Preparation for Registration / Subscription Procedures
Make sure the additional handset is installed with good battery pack.
Before you proceed to the next registration procedures, you must make sure the PIN code of the base
station is ready. Basically, PIN code of base unit can be changed by user. If you have changed the PIN
code yourself, you must make this PIN code ready.
Registration procedures
On the base unit Bring the base unit into registration mode. Press and hold the page button
10 seconds until the in-use/charge indicator starts flashing quickly.

The base unit will remain in registration mode for 2 minutes. You must complete the rest procedures
before the base unit quit from registration mode. If you fail to complete registration in time, the
indicator of the base unit will stop flashing and you must restart the whole procedures again.

This DECT phone is gap compatible of which the base can connect more than one handset. You can
connect up to 5 handsets to this base staiion and please follow the procedures as stated in "Base
Subscription" section.
If you have connected 2 handsets or more for the same base station, you can remove the handset by
the followings steps:
1. In standby mode, push
to enter into Menu Programming mode.
2. Use
buttons to start browsing until “
” is shown.
3. Push
again to enter into SETTING menu.
4. Use
buttons to start browsing until “
” is shown.
5. Push
button to confirm.
6. You will be asked to enter your PIN (Default PIN is 0000 if you have not changed the PIN)
7. Enter PIN and push
to confirm
8. Enter desired handset number to be removed. (from HS-1 to HS-5)
9. Push
button to confirm.
Note:
If only one handset is connecting to the base station, you cannot remove this handset, as it is the
only left handset controlling the base station.

4. HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO AN ADDITIONAL BASE UNIT
A single handset can work with more than 1 base unit. This could be useful if more than 1 telephone
line and telephone number is connected to your house or office. Then 1 single handset can operate
different telephone lines by selecting and switching between different base units.
Usually, standard product package will not include more than 1 base unit. ln case you have another
set of DECT phone (GAP compatible) installed in your house or office, you may go through the following
steps to subscribe the handset of this DECT phone to your other base units.

Preparation for Base Unit Subscription Procedures
Before you proceed to the next subscription procedures, you must make the following information handy.
i. Make sure the base unit you intend to register is DECT system and GAP compatible.
ii. lnformation shows how to bring the base unit into registration mode. Usually, this information can be
found in the instruction manual comes with the base unit.
iii. The PIN code of the base station. Basically, PlN code of base unit can be changed by user. If
you have changed the PIN code yourself, you must make this PIN code ready. If you have not
changed the PIN code yourseIf, you may consult the instruction manual comes with your base unit
to find out the default PIN code.
Registration Procedures
On the base unit 1. Bring the base unit into registration mode. Please consult instruction manual comes from the base
unit.
If the base unit you intend to register is from the same marker of this handset unit Press and hold the page button
of the base unit for 10 seconds until the line / charge indicator
starts flashing quickly.
On the handset - Now, the base set is in subscribing mode. All following operations must be performed while
the line / charge indicator is flashing quickly.

Note:
Subscription of a new base unit will automatically replace any previous base unit setting in the same
reference number memory bank. If you do not intend to replace and overwrite any existing base unit
setting, always register a new base unit at a free reference number memory bank in your handset
(each handset can work with rnaximum 4 base units).
5. HOW TO CHARGE / SWITCH BASE UNIT FROM THE HANDSET
If your handset has subscribed to more than 1 base unit, you may switch among base stations
(to switch among different telephone lines)
1. In standby mode, push
to enter into menu programming mode.
2. Use
buttons to start browsing until “
” is shown.
3. Push
to confirm.
4. Use
buttons to start browsing until “
” is shown.
5. Push
to confirm.
6. Use
buttons to start browsing until “
” is shown.
7. Push

8. Enter the desired base unit reference number.
9. If selected base unit is found, the handset switches to desired base unit, otherwise it quits programming
mode and returns to original base unit setting.
Note:
The base unit will remain in registration rnode for 2 minutes. You must complete the rest procedures
before the base unit quit from registration rnode. If you fail to complete registration in time, the indicator
of the base unit will stop flashing and you must restart the whole procedures again.
