LAYOUT
As you step aboard, you'll notice immediately one of the signature features of the Kadey-Krogen - the
large covered cockpit our owners so often refer to as their "back porch". You enter the saloon through
the double teak doors and on the port side is a fixed settee offering a generous amount of storage
space. To starboard is the dinette area with a large L-shaped settee and a hi-low table that either
works as a coffee table or when opened a table for dining up to eight people. On the aft facing bulkhead
of the galley is a 31" Sony Bravia flatscreen TV. On the aft bulkhead there is an opening window
offering extra light and natural ventilation. The saloon windows on the port and starboard sides all open
as well for extra ventilation. There are custom curtains and pillows throughout.
Forward of the settee on the port side is a buffet/storage area, with an opening portlight. Across from
the buffet is the galley to starboard. The galley is outfitted with Corien counters, a GE 14.6 cu.ft. refrig/
freezer, Force 10 3 burner/oven stove, GE microwave/convection oven, large stainless sink and
abundant storage and drawers. The galley comes fully equipped.
Heading down only four steps leads you into the living quarters. The guest head with separate stall
shower is to port. The GE washer/dryer is housed in this head area, making for very convenient
washing needs. The toilets are SeaLand Vacuuflush systems that can be either directed overboard or
to the holding tank.
The guest stateroom is to starboard and is laid out as a den/office or made into a commodious
accommodation for your guests with a pullout queen. The desk is large enough to be usable and the
hanging locker is more than generous. Oh and not to worry, plenty of drawers for your guests needs.
Proceeding forward leads you into your owner's suite. The island master berth is full queen sized. The
berth has gas struts and lifts to reveal a huge storage locker beneath as well as having six drawers at
the foot end. On the aft bulkhead of the suite, there is a mirrored vanity and drawers. Accompanied
with 2 large hanging lockers - port and starboard side makes for an unbelievable amount of storage in a
yacht! Ventilation is provided by two large opening hatches and four opening ports. All opening ports,
hatches and windows are screened. The master has an ensuite head with walk-in shower, sink with
mirror and vanity.
From the Saloon, up four steps leads you to the pilothouse. The 48 pilothouse is designed with plenty
of space to create a very enjoyable social area. EVENTIDE has a new LeBroc helm chair as well as a
new Furuno touch screen system. More on the navigational suite in the electronics section.
In front of the pilothouse is a settee with storage beneath. There are new custom cushions for the
settee. You know, this is one of the most desirable areas to sit and enjoy a glass of wine once you've
dropped anchor, that I can attest to!
Access up to the flybridge and boatdeck is made easier than by using the cockpit ladder, with a foldover ladder/steps system leading from the port side just aft of the pilothouse door. This is the same
system that is used on the wide-body version but fold and clips into place offering the walk-around
capability when not in use. This is a yard option on the walk-around model.
