Safety Instructions
The following safety symbols are used in this manual. Read and follow all safety
instructions in this manual precisely to avoid unsafe operating conditions, fire,
explosion, property damage, personal injury, or death. Keep this manual for future

Turning the Controller On or Off
To turn the controller on or off, press the Power
button.
When the power is on,
t The LCD display turns on.
t The LED indicator turns green.
t Hot water temperature is displayed.
Note
t When an error occurs, the LED
indicator turns RED and blinks (except
for Cascade mode).
t The backlight stays on for 8 seconds on
every button pressing.

Setting the water temperature
Adjusting the temperature differs depending on
the DIP switch settings.
Level 1: 98~120°F (36~50°C)
t Press the Up or Down button to adjust the
temperature. The temperature changes by 1°F
(0.5°C).
Level 2: 120~140°F (50~60°C)
t Press and hold the Up button for 2 seconds to
increase the temperature by 5°F (2°C).

Note
While using hot water, setting the water
temperature is available only up to
110°F (43°C). Water above 110°F (43°C)
can cause instant scalding or severe
burns.

t The settings are automatically saved
when you do not press any buttons for
5 seconds.

Entering High Temperature Mode (Commercial Mode)

Press and hold the Up and Down button
simultaneously for 10 seconds.
t When this mode is available, "HIGH" appears for
3 seconds.
t When this mode is unavailable, "LoW" appears
for 3 seconds.
Press the Up button for 5 seconds to increase the
temperature by 10°F (5°C), and press the Down
button to decrease the temperature by 10°F (5°C).
Note
Commercial Warranty Applies when this
mode is used. Refer to the Warranty in the
Operation manual for more details.
To prevent instant scalding or severe burns, check the set temperature before using hot water.

Entering Lock Mode
To prevent accidental pressing of the buttons or
to prevent children from operating the controller,
you can enter Lock Mode.
To activate or deactivate Lock Mode, press the
Lock button for 2 seconds.
When Lock Mode is activated,

t The Lock icon appears.
t All buttons except for Lock button are locked.

t Resetting errors or alarms is still
available with Lock Mode activated.
t You can change the settings on the
panel with Lock Mode activated.

Additional features for Cascade systems
Stand by feature before On/Off
System info on the Slave panel
This feature allows the system to stand by until the
Power switches to On or Off.
When the remote controller is connected to the
wrong panel, its ID is displayed on the LCD display
as an alert. In this case, you cannot control or
change the settings.
"WAIT" is displayed while the entire Cascade water
heater power switching is completely finished.
Connect the remote controller to the Master panel
correctly.

About errors and icons
For level 1 errors
Reset errors
Current status and the error code displays in turn.
You can reset the errors and control them.
After the problems for errors are solved, press the
OK button once and "RST" is displayed on the LCD
display.
For level 2 errors
The error code and the repair icon displays in turn.
The LED flashes in red.
You cannot reset the errors or control them.
For Cascade systems
Regardless of error levels, the following is
displayed in turn: Current status, error code, and
Cascade ID.
You can reset errors and control them.

About scale warning
Scale warning
Deactivating the scale alarm
When the water heater needs to be cleaned, the
scale alarm is activated.
Press and hold the OK button for 2 seconds.
"RST" is displayed for 3 seconds.
Current status and alarm code is displayed in turn.
You can change the settings and control them.
For Cascade systems
The following is displayed in turn:
Current status, alarm code, and Cascade ID.
You can change the settings and control them.

Basic Troubleshooting and Frequently Asked Questions
If you experience a problem with the water heater, refer to the following chart for
possible remedies. Error codes that appear on the front panel display are explained in
the following section.
For minor problems, resetting the water heater may resolve the issue. To reset the
water heater, press the Reset button on the front panel.
If resetting the water heater and attempting the remedies suggested below do not
resolve the problem, contact an authorized technician, a licensed professional, or
Technical Support at 1-800-519-8794 for service instructions.

when the hot water tap is
