• If this product is brought directly from a cold to a warm location or
is placed in a very damp room, moisture may condense on the
inside of this product. If this occurs, this product may not work
properly.
• Keep away this product and battery from children.
Battery Information and Precautions
• Caution: Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the
manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to the
instructions.
• If the battery liquid is leaking:
-- Do not touch the battery liquid directly. If your eyes, skin, or clothing
comes into contact with the battery liquid, wash well with pure
water. If you have skin inflammation or a wound results, consult a
doctor immediately.
-- Wipe the battery compartment carefully, and insert new batteries.
• Dispose of used batteries promptly and properly. In some areas, the
disposal of batteries in household or business waste may be
prohibited. Please use the appropriate public collection system.
• Batteries may explode or leak if recharged, or disposed of in fire.
• Do not disassemble, heat above 60 ˚C (140 °F) or incinerate.
• Be sure to use batteries specified in “Power requirements” of
“Specifications.”
• Insert the batteries with the correct +/– orientation.
• When the batteries have run out, or when you intend to not use this
product over a prolonged period, remove the batteries.
• Do not short-circuit the metal terminals of the battery or wet them
with any liquid, for example, water, coffee, or juice.

Before Use
This product, Digitizer Stylus (pen), is designed for use with personal
computers.
Not all features described in this manual may be available, depending
on your model.
Before using this product, check your model.
Use of the pen may vary depending on the app. Refer to the manuals
supplied with your computer.
Locating Parts
 Tail cap
Keep the tail cap attached unless you need to replace the battery.
Buttons
The larger button can be used to display various context menus.
(This is similar to right-clicking with a mouse.) The smaller
button can be used to erase text on some apps.
!Note
This pen has no power switch. It is operational as long as it has a battery
inserted.
Preparations
Inserting a battery
Inserting a battery makes the pen operational.
When the pen seems not working properly, replace the battery.
1 Remove the tail cap from the barrel of the pen.
2 Insert the battery into the pen with the + side toward the nib.
3 Attach the tail cap back in place.
!Notes
• Do not insert a commercially available rechargeable battery as it may
cause battery fluid leaks and malfunctions of the pen.
• When the battery power is running low, replace the battery with a new
one promptly. Keeping a depleted battery in the pen may cause battery
fluid leaks.
Attaching the pen grip (pen grip supplied
models)
Attaching the pen grip helps you have a comfortable, secure hold as
you write. To attach the pen grip, push it from the tip of the pen as
indicated by the arrow.

Warranty Card
The digitizer stylus (pen) comes with a warranty card* that your dealer
provides at your purchase. Read the terms and conditions of the
warranty, fill in required information, and store the warranty card in a
safe place.
* If your pen comes with the personal computer you purchased, no
warranty card specific to the pen will be provided.
Repair Services
Repair Services within Warranty Period
Repair services will be provided according to the terms and condition
of the warranty. Some services, however, may be subject to payments
even if they are requested within the warranty period. For details, refer
to your warranty card.
Repair Service beyond Warranty Period
If the digitizer stylus (pen) is expected to regain its functionality by
repair, necessary repair services will be provided at your request and
be subject to payments.

Often times, some issues may not require repair services and you can
rectify them by changing some settings. Before you request for any
repair services, VAIO Corporation advises you to visit our VAIO support
website to find out the information applicable to your issue with your
digitizer stylus (pen).

Additional Information
Make sure that the pen buttons
fit to the respective button
marks on the pen grip.
!Note
Take care not to let the nib harm yourself when attaching the pen grip.
Replacing the nib (tip)
Selection of a nib totally depends on your preference. If you think the
original nib is not suited to your liking, replace it with the supplied one,
try it out, and see how well it writes.
1 Pinch the nib and pull it straight out.
2 Check the direction of the new nib and insert it into the barrel of the
pen.
