Making Public Transport Trips Easier
Combining ticket purchase and delivery with trip planning and enhanced with real time information on departures
and delays, the mobile phone can become the key that unlocks the door to easier public transport trips.
Trapeze Mobile Ticketing is a secure application that includes
mobile apps for travellers to purchase and redeem tickets
(across all platforms).
Passengers can use this solution to
purchase a wide range of tickets via their
mobile phone and pay directly through the
application via debit card, credit card or
pre-payment/promotion card.
Trapeze offers the most flexible solution
in the market. The application works
across all platforms, on all smartphones
as well as on all Internet-enabled
mobile phones.
“Our m-ticketing system has brought bus travel firmly into the 21st century
and has become very popular with our customers.”

How does Mobile Ticketing work?
1. Using the traveller information application on their mobile
device, public transportation users find the best connection
to their destination. Passengers can also directly access
their account.
2. Anywhere and anytime, passengers can now use the application
to purchase their transit tickets. Transport providers can offer a
great variety of tailored tickets; including single, return, daily,
weekly, annual, or term tickets.
3. Customers pay directly through the application via debit
or credit card, cash or prepayment/promotion card. Secure
financial transactions are crucial. Security is integrated into
system transactions using AES. The databases holding
tickets and transaction information are located in a PCI-DSS
compliant data-centre.
4. Once the ticket has been purchased, passengers can choose
how to show the transport operator that the ticket is valid (see
below). Passengers can decide when to use a ticket and
buy tickets in advance. Tickets do not have to be used
immediately after purchase.
Choose between various ticket options
According to the standards defined by the transport provider,
a mobile ticket can appear on a device’s
device s screen as visible
N Field
ticket, a Barcode to be scanned, or redeemed via Near
p
Communication (NFC). The ticket is stored on the phone
and
g flash
server(s) securely. If the ticket is valid, a beep or light
confirms that the ticket has been accepted.
“The rate at which customers are
adapting to the new technology
is incredible. In the first 12 months,
we saw 500,000 trips made on
m-tickets. In the next
six months, we saw a further
500,000 journeys.”
