POSITION: Regional Sales Manager/Sales Representative - German-Speaking Countries

Position Summary - Description
This position report directly to the VP of Sales, Marketing & Business Development. The Regional
Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for developing and managing market opportunities in
Germany, Switzerland and Austria for the Hysitron’s cutting edge nanomechanical testing
instruments. The RSM will drive the growth of the sales of Hysitron’s existing product lines
and new products through the use of strong application skills, value sell justification and the
development of critical VOC. The RSM will work closely with application engineer and our
customer base, being responsible for its development.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone with required experience in product/sales
management within our industry, self-motivated, hands on and willing to do whatever it takes to get
the job done effectively and increase sales of the Hysitron’s product lines within assigned territory.
Territory: Germany, Switzerland, Austria
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for achieving sales growth targets through direct sales efforts. It is expected that
this position will increase in direct sales responsibilities as critical markets develop.
• Educating the market on company’s capabilities and products through direct customer visits,
demonstrations, seminars and presentations.
• Collecting and assembling market intelligence, as well as customer requirements and
expectations, and developing a deep understanding of the applications in key market segments,
specifically with industrial focus.
• Regularly generating sales forecasts based on sales pipeline activities and account insights.
• Attend and coordinate trade shows and conferences and present company’s capabilities and
solutions at relevant industry sector venues.
• Sales call plans for all major area accounts & new accounts.
• Involving and interacting regularly with the company’s application support staff to respond to
market needs.
• Understand and assist in the development for product marketing for all Hysitron’s products.
• Collect and capture market and competitive data for various competing products and
technologies.

JOB POSTING
Application Engineering:
• Understand, capture and communicate applications with end-users and customers. This
includes conducting communications, industry wide presentations, and key customer
presentations.
Qualifications:
• BS in Science or Engineering degree, or equivalent, from an accredited college or university.
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience with proven record of success in a direct technical sales role
in a high tech, ideally instrumentation industry, fast-paced environment is preferable.
• Good knowledge of the general industrial areas in German speaking countries.
• “Road Warrior” mentality is highly preferred: Frequent travel (min. 60%) to various parts of
assigned territory is expected.
• Mechanical characterization experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work on cross
functional teams, or individually.
• Ability to develop successful sales strategies.
• Negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.
• Natural self-starter.
• Demonstrated technical acumen coupled with a sales and marketing focus.
Languages:
• German: native or full bilingual proficiency
• English: full working proficiency
• French: would be an asset
