onnect6 (connect6.com), a new recruiting search tool that is
currently in Beta testing, will provide recruiters with another
resource for finding profiles from social media sites. The
site, which searches and indexes public profiles from more than 15
online communities including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, GitHub
and others, aggregates all of the various profiles that a person may
have on these communities into one profile on its site. This means
recruiters can do a single search at Connect6 and access profiles
from several online communities at once. From a profile view within
Connect6, one can see and click the links back to each of the online
communities where that particular profile was found.
There are currently more than 500 million profiles available on the
site today, and this number will continue to grow as it is continually
searching and indexing profiles. The talent profiles on Connect6
encompass a wide variety of skills and industries.

When a recruiter signs up for a free account, they will be able to run
simple keyword searches based on skillsets, location, etc. Search
results can be filtered by the sources where they were found, skills,
companies, or schools.

With the Social Graph feature, a recruiter who uploads contacts
from their individual social media sites can see how they are
connected to others on Connect6. This can help make reaching out
to a potential candidate more of a “warm” contact because of the
shared connections between the recruiter and the candidate.

Connect6 will give every new subscriber the ability to perform an
unlimited number of searches (no limitations, no time limits, no
contracts) and 25 free contacts (contact information for profiles.)
When a user expends all of their free credits, they have the option to
sign up for a paid subscription for $25/month (50 contacts) or $100/
month (250 contacts).
New PRC 3.0 Class
Launched!
If the user opts not to subscribe, they can continue using the
browser version or the Chrome extension (which will be available
from the Connect6 website) for free, and will see a “Buy Now”
button on every contact page. If they select this option, they can sign
up for a subscription.

With a large and continually growing database of profiles, Connect6
offers another source to consider when building a robust sourcing
plan. The development team at Connect6 expects the site to be
rolled out in late March.

Google Expands Custom Search Engines
For those that liked the Google Custom Search Engine Product, it is now even better. One of the
enhancements is the ability to create and program the CSE just from simple keywords or phrases. No more
telling it what sites to XRay. Just type in the
words and Google will recommend the sites to
explore to find the talent hiding (in plain sight).
To begin, go to www.google.com/cse and click
on “New Search Engine”. From there, click “use
the CSE creation from keywords” option, to
launch the new feature.

A Professional Network Built for Oil & Gas Professionals
Oilpro.com is a great tool to locate Oil & Gas professionals online. This professional networking site allows
users to connect with colleagues, share their expertise and stay on top of industry news.
Once on the site, the process to create a profile is free and easy to do. To speed up the process of creating
your profile, users can easily import their LinkedIn profile and make edits as needed.
When the LinkedIn profile import is complete, users can additionally select their privacy options and choose
their current status in regards to career opportunities. Status options include statements like “Actively
seeking job opportunities” and “Not looking for a job but open to new opportunities”.
