JOB TITLE: Airport Maintenance Technician
JOB TYPE: Full Time (40+ hours/wk)
PAY RANGE: $15.00/hr

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
The Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport is a federally certificated facility serving the
general flying community, corporate operations and commercially scheduled service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Airport Maintenance Technicians are responsible for maintaining the airfield and terminal
facilities according to federal regulations under the guidance of the Operations Superintendent.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, airport tenants,
public officials, general public and flying community.
Proficient operation of a motor vehicle and large equipment (dump truck, tractor, etc).
Perform a variety of semi-skilled work:
o Grounds maintenance (mowing, trimming, spraying)
o Maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC
o Maintenance of pavements
Maintain the airport in compliance with federal regulations and airport manuals.
Maintain and repair entry access control systems.
Perform security inspections and monitor movement area.
Perform approved wildlife control.
Process reports.
Perform custodial duties.
Escort maintenance contractors.
Conduct snow control operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
•
High School Diploma or GED.
•
•
Basic math skills and the ability to read and write legibly in English.
Must pass a 5-year criminal history background check.
•
•
Must work effectively and efficient with limited supervision.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
•
•
A CDL or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.
Must have reliable vehicle or transportation.

Must report to work on time and be fit for duty.
Must be willing to perform shift work in a rotation of days, evenings, and nights including
weekends, holidays and overtime.

Practical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building maintenance.
Proficient operation and maintenance of a variety of motor vehicles.
•

Ability to operate office equipment (computer, telephone, copier).
Proficient operation and maintenance of a variety of light equipment and tools.
•
•
Pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain one with one year of employment.
Good working knowledge of FAA rules, radio operations and/or the ability to study and
obtain the same.
•

Must work well with others and maintain good public relations and communications.
Ability to work under stress and remain calm in emergency situations.
•
Willing to be on call 24/7
o Must be at the airport within thirty minutes of receiving a call.
Ability to follow verbal and or written instructions.
•

Regularly required to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with
hands and arms.
Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, hear,
see and smell.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Regularly works outside.

Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration.
Works near moving mechanical parts.
