Traditionally, the topping out or topping off ceremony commemorates the swinging of the highest structural beam into place on a building.
While the project is not complete, it has reached its maximum height.
Origins of the ceremony are thought to come from ancient Scandinavia.
This includes the placing of a tree on top of the new building.
The tree symbolizes new growth. It is an expression of hope for safe completion of the project and luck to its future tenants.
Today’s ceremony is to honor the hard work of our team and to guide us toward a safe and swift completion of the project.
