One of the largest prison camps of the Third Reich was established in the spring of
1941. The prisoners, housed in the POW camp known as Camp Stalag 326 (K VI),
were mostly Soviet prisoners of war. Some of them had other nationalities, such as
French, Polish and Italian.
Tens of thousands of Soviet prisoners were buried in the cemetery nearby – now it
is a Memorial Cemetery dedicated to the Soviet war dead.
The former prison building of Stalag 326 (VI K) includes a documentation of Stalag
326 (VI K) Senne. An exhibition of rare photos taken by a camp doctor, handicrafts
from prisoners, documents and films illustrate impressively the painful past of tens
of thousands of war prisoners.

Unfortunately, our office is not open every day, so please call us only on opening
hours. You can also leave a message and your telephone number on the answering
machine. We will call you back afterwards. If you don’t speak German, please write
an E-Mail containing your questions or wishes. In most cases we will answer within
one week.
Opening hours
Tuesday and Wednesday: 10.00 am – 13.00 pm, the entrance is free.
During the school holidays, the exhibition is open by appointment only!
Closed on public holidays!
Guided tours
Free guided tours can be booked by appointment during regular opening hours and
school holidays. On request, we can take you to the cemetery of Soviet war dead.
Foreign-language tours are also available. Visitors have to pay the costs for a translator or should ask about them before. A guided tour in a foreign-language should
be announced in good time.

We can help you to book a place for the night in a hotel. We also offer a shuttle service from the airport to Paderborn (http://www.flughafen-paderborn-lippstadt.de/).
If you arrive by train, we will pick you up by car at the railway stations Hövelhof,
Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock, Bielefeld and Paderborn. All costs incurred have to be
paid.
We offer with the help of priest Sergej Illin the opportunity for an orthodox prayer
service to visitors who want to go to the cemetery of Soviet war dead to see the
grave of their relatives.

The work in the documentation site Stalag 326 (VI K) Senne is run by volunteers.
The funding is particularly organized by the aid association „Dokumentationsstätte
Stalag 326 (VI K) Senne e.V.“ and private donations.

Of course, we assist in search for family members.
Please note the following:
1. The tracing request has to be in writing, either by post or e-mail.
2. G
ive the applicant’s name, first name, address, phone number and if possible,
the e-mail address.
3. W
hich is your family relationship towards the person on whom information is
requested?
4. T
he following data is important particularly for the search: name, first name,
father‘s name, birth date, birth year, death year, please consider different spellings of the information.
5. I f original documents or copies of documents are available, please provide scans
or copies. Do not send originals!
6. If possible, the tracing request should be written in German, Russian or English.
7. Processing time: 2-6 weeks
8. No processing fee is charged.
