Dear visitors, We have translated the main content of our website to provide you with more accessible information. One of the largest prison camps of the Third Reich was established in the spring of 1941. The prisoners, housed in the POW camp known as Camp Stalag 326 (K VI), were mostly Soviet prisoners of war. Some of them had other nationalities, such as French, Polish and Italian. Tens of thousands of Soviet prisoners were buried in the cemetery nearby – now it is a Memorial Cemetery dedicated to the Soviet war dead. The former prison building of Stalag 326 (VI K) includes a documentation of Stalag 326 (VI K) Senne. An exhibition of rare photos taken by a camp doctor, handicrafts from prisoners, documents and films illustrate impressively the painful past of tens of thousands of war prisoners.
