Programme Educational Objectives
To prepare students to excel in industry/technical profession and/or higher education by
providing a strong foundation in mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals.
To train students with good scientific and engineering breadth so as to comprehend,
analyse, design and create novel products and solutions to mechanical and industrial
problems that are technically sound, economically feasible and socially acceptable.
To exhibit professionalism, ethical attitude, communication skills, team work in their
profession, multidisciplinary approach and an ability to relate engineering issues to
broader social context.

Programme Outcomes
An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals to
model, analyse and obtain solution for real-life mechanical engineering problems.
An ability to identify, formulate and solve mechanical related engineering problems.
To have the ability to work professionally in both thermal and mechanical systems areas,
including the design and realisation of such systems.
An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyse and interpret data.
An understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues and
responsibilities.
Ability to use modern computer tools in mechanical engineering.
An ability to analyse the local and global impact of problems on individuals, organisations
and society.
Knowledge of contemporary issues.
An ability to work effectively, individually and in teams, including diverse and
