Sustainably setting an example. With the ECO solutions from Wacker Neuson. A sign for the future. Energy efficiency, environmental protection and the power of innovation determine every design and development at Wacker Neuson, and are a part of our success story: More and more of our solutions meet the criteria for the ECO seal, which we use to label machines and equipment that set standards in terms of economic efficiency and environmental friendliness. By doing so, we are doing more than just meeting our corporate responsibility as one of the world’s leading manufacturers. In particular, we are also meeting the high expectations of our customers who are placing increased emphasis on sustainability issues, in addition to economic efficiency, in the composition of their machine fleet. High level of sustainability: We are your partner for today, tomorrow and beyond. Intelligent functions that give you a high degree of efficiency and productivity in any situation – this is what distinguishes our products with the ECO seal. One example of this is our zero emission solutions that allow you to work indoors or in the urban sector. And many of our fuel-powered products have an extremely low consumption – one aspect that is equally relevant economically and with regard to environmental aspects. Regardless of what you need for your specific project, you can rely on one thing: Wacker Neuson – all it takes! Wacker Neuson Group Nachhaltigkeitsbericht 2014 For us as a globally active group, resource conservation and environmental protection already begins with local procurement of raw materials and components, runs through the entire production process and life cycle of a product and goes far beyond that: for example when it comes to resale value or recycling. Here we repeatedly identify new potential for savings and optimization, which we pass on to our customers in the form of sustainable solutions with the ECO seal. We give you our word on that! Taking our social responsibility into consideration, doing business efficiently and in a resource-saving manner and in the process living and further developing our corporate values — this is the goal of our sustainability strategy. This is determined once annually in an open workshop by the CSR Steering Committee, which consists of the managing board as well as representatives from the headquarters and specialist departments. In addition, company-wide working groups provide the committee with innovative ideas. 17.06.15 10:10 Cem Peksaglam, CEO Flow processes: Skillfully avoid waste. At each of our locations, we have made it our task to consume as little fresh water as possible. That is why we are treating industrial water internally and using process water in circulation several times – a water and wastewater management that has more than proven itself in our plants. In addition, we rely on a sophisticated disposal management that has made another contribution to the conservation of natural resources. 02 03 Proven efficiency: operational environmental protection. With us ecology and economy complement one another in a productive way – and always bring forth resource-saving and efficiently produced quality products that frequently and even significantly fall below the statutory guide and limit values. Our production facilities set new standards in many respects. We incorporate environmental considerations at all stages of the value added chain in our decisions. We introduce the international standards DIN EN ISO 14001 and DIN EN ISO 50001 in order to do business in an even more energy and resource-saving manner in the future. We can therefore check our environmental friendliness and energy efficiency in a detectable way - and continue to increase them. We succeed by using a variety of innovative technologies: ECOlogy + ECOnomy = ECO Our target is to offer our customers solutions that are excellent in terms of economic efficiency as well as in terms of environmental friendliness – and we can also prove this endeavor with facts and figures. We distinguish products that meet these two criteria to a particularly high degree with our ECO seal, which stands for ECOlogy (environmental friendliness) and ECOnomy (economic efficiency). ECOlogy + ECOnomy = • Hot water preparation with the help of renewable energies • Intelligent light control • Heat recovery in painting and ventilation systems • Biological wastewater treatment • Flue gas recirculation with boilers Wacker Neuson production in Linz Well thought-out: the painting process. Painting makes up a large part of the energy consumption in the manufacture of our products. That is why we are making the entire process more efficient and resource-saving: In the treatment of components, we are optimizing the energy consumption with a speed-controlled blasting plant, whereby blasting agent is saved and can be re-used more often. Ventilation systems with efficient rotary heat exchangers make a considerable contribution to heat recovery: In this way, much of the heat for the painting booths is taken from the exhaust air so that the desired temperature can be achieved with little energy expenditure. Another plus: the highly efficient infrared drying for fast and flawless hardening of components. In addition to the flexible adjustment of the drying intensity, our exhaust cabins supply their energy from the residual heat of the drying zones. During idling times, energy input is completely eliminated. We therefore guarantee the optimal energy consumption for every element. 04 Sustainability is becoming increasingly important. Those who want to be successful in the future must make CSR an integral component of their corporate culture – of this we are convinced. The critical examination of our processes and a transparent reporting serve to identify potential for improvement and convert that potential into action. All of our stakeholders will benefit from this. A professional sustainability management to control processes in the company more efficiently and the publication of sustainability-related information are in focus here. " These topics are also becoming more important for our customers. In more and more countries, companies that act particularly environmentally conscious are receiving preferential treatment with public tenders. The fact that environmental protection has been on our agenda for a long time is proven by several time-tested and proven products and solutions. With the ECO seal, Wacker Neuson wants to draw attention to products that, in terms of efficiency and environmental protection, demonstrate how the two requirements can be perfectly balanced and how they yield a real benefit for our customers. Another innovation is the wheel loader WL20e, which marks another step towards electric mobility. The batteryoperated wheel loader from Wacker Neuson works completely free of emissions and with a low noise level. In addition, Wacke Neuson has developed the first batterypowered rammer. Especially for compaction work in trench applications, the end user is therefore protected from higher exhaust emissions caused by the application – and the contractor noticeably saves in operating costs. The ECO products are a component in the sustainability strategy that is preparing Wacker Neuson for long-term success. " Cem Peksaglam, CEO Wacker Neuson SE Alternative drive technologies are one of the major issues in the discussion about emissions reduction. An innovation in this area is the 803 dual power from Wacker Neuson.
