Sustainably setting
an example.
With the ECO solutions from Wacker Neuson.
A sign for the future.
Energy efficiency, environmental protection and the power of innovation determine every design and
development at Wacker Neuson, and are a part of our success story: More and more of our solutions
meet the criteria for the ECO seal, which we use to label machines and equipment that set standards
in terms of economic efficiency and environmental friendliness. By doing so, we are doing more than
just meeting our corporate responsibility as one of the world’s leading manufacturers. In particular,
we are also meeting the high expectations of our customers who are placing increased emphasis on
sustainability issues, in addition to economic efficiency, in the composition of their machine fleet.
High level of sustainability:
We are your partner for today, tomorrow and beyond.
Intelligent functions that give you a high degree of efficiency and
productivity in any situation – this is what distinguishes our products
with the ECO seal. One example of this is our zero emission solutions
that allow you to work indoors or in the urban sector. And many of
our fuel-powered products have an extremely low consumption –
one aspect that is equally relevant economically and with regard to
environmental aspects. Regardless of what you need for your specific
project, you can rely on one thing: Wacker Neuson – all it takes!
Wacker Neuson Group Nachhaltigkeitsbericht 2014
For us as a globally active group, resource conservation and environmental protection already
begins with local procurement of raw materials and components, runs through the entire production
process and life cycle of a product and goes far beyond that: for example when it comes to resale
value or recycling. Here we repeatedly identify new potential for savings and optimization, which we
pass on to our customers in the form of sustainable solutions with the ECO seal. We give you our
word on that!

Real teamwork: Live corporate responsibility.
Taking our social responsibility into consideration, doing business
efficiently and in a resource-saving manner and in the process living and
further developing our corporate values — this is the goal of our sustainability
strategy. This is determined once annually in an open workshop by the
CSR Steering Committee, which consists of the managing board as well
as representatives from the headquarters and specialist departments.
In addition, company-wide working groups provide the committee with
innovative ideas.

Flow processes: Skillfully avoid waste.
At each of our locations, we have made it our task
to consume as little fresh water as possible. That is
why we are treating industrial water internally and using
process water in circulation several times – a water
and wastewater management that has more than
proven itself in our plants.
In addition, we rely on a sophisticated disposal
management that has made another contribution to
the conservation of natural resources.
02
03
Proven efficiency: operational environmental protection.
With us ecology and economy complement one another in a productive way – and always bring forth resource-saving and
efficiently produced quality products that frequently and even significantly fall below the statutory guide and limit values.
Our production facilities set new standards in many respects. We incorporate environmental considerations at all stages
of the value added chain in our decisions. We introduce the international standards DIN EN ISO 14001 and
DIN EN ISO 50001 in order to do business in an even more energy
and resource-saving manner in the future.
We can therefore check our environmental friendliness and
energy efficiency in a detectable way - and continue to increase them.
We succeed by using a variety of innovative technologies:
ECOlogy + ECOnomy = ECO
Our target is to offer our customers solutions that are excellent in terms of economic
efficiency as well as in terms of environmental friendliness – and we can also prove
this endeavor with facts and figures. We distinguish products that meet these two
criteria to a particularly high degree with our ECO seal, which stands for ECOlogy
(environmental friendliness) and ECOnomy (economic efficiency).
ECOlogy + ECOnomy =
• Hot water preparation with the help of renewable energies
• Intelligent light control
• Heat recovery in painting and ventilation systems
• Biological wastewater treatment
• Flue gas recirculation with boilers
Wacker Neuson production in Linz
Well thought-out: the painting process.
Painting makes up a large part of the energy
consumption in the manufacture of our products. That
is why we are making the entire process more efficient
and resource-saving: In the treatment of components,
we are optimizing the energy consumption with a
speed-controlled blasting plant, whereby blasting agent
is saved and can be re-used more often. Ventilation
systems with efficient rotary heat exchangers make
a considerable contribution to heat recovery: In this
way, much of the heat for the painting booths is taken
from the exhaust air so that the desired temperature
can be achieved with little energy expenditure.
Another plus: the highly efficient infrared drying for fast
and flawless hardening of components. In addition
to the flexible adjustment of the drying intensity, our
exhaust cabins supply their energy from the residual
heat of the drying zones. During idling times, energy
input is completely eliminated. We therefore
guarantee the optimal energy consumption for
every element.
04
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important.
Those who want to be successful in the future must make
CSR an integral component of their corporate culture –
of this we are convinced. The critical examination of our
processes and a transparent reporting serve to identify
potential for improvement and convert that potential into action.
All of our stakeholders will benefit from this. A professional
sustainability management to control processes in the
company more efficiently and the publication of
sustainability-related information are in focus here.
"
These topics are also becoming more important for our
customers. In more and more countries, companies that
act particularly environmentally conscious are receiving
preferential treatment with public tenders.
The fact that environmental protection has been on our
agenda for a long time is proven by several time-tested
and proven products and solutions. With the ECO seal,
Wacker Neuson wants to draw attention to products that, in
terms of efficiency and environmental protection, demonstrate
how the two requirements can be perfectly balanced and
how they yield a real benefit for our customers.
Another innovation is the wheel loader WL20e, which
marks another step towards electric mobility. The batteryoperated wheel loader from Wacker Neuson works
completely free of emissions and with a low noise level.
In addition, Wacke Neuson has developed the first batterypowered rammer. Especially for compaction work in trench
applications, the end user is therefore protected from higher
exhaust emissions caused by the application – and the
contractor noticeably saves in operating costs.
The ECO products are a component in the sustainability
strategy that is preparing Wacker Neuson for long-term
success.

Alternative drive technologies are one of the major issues in
the discussion about emissions reduction. An innovation in this
area is the 803 dual power from Wacker Neuson. The tracked
excavator with the dual power option meets all requirements
for a compact diesel excavator, but in a few minutes can be
converted to an equipment for emission-free work – without
the loss of machine efficiency or versatility.
05
For maximum maneuverability.
Achieve much, work in an economical manner, while protecting the environment: the emission-free solutions from
Wacker Neuson open up completely new potentials to you. These machines and units thus meet all exhaust emission
regulations and even the most stringent tender criteria, e.g. for urban projects or for working indoors.
The emission-free solutions from
Wacker Neuson:
• The world's first battery-powered
rammers AS30e and AS50e
• The track dumper DT10e
• The wheel loader WL20e
• The power unit HPU8 for the tracked
excavator 803 dual power
In addition, there is interesting potential for savings for you, because the operating costs are much lower than with
fuel-powered models. This forward-looking product category can be found across our entire product range offer.

Two drive systems, full flexibility: the dual power
solution for tracked excavators from Wacker Neuson.
Simply work emission-free: The Wacker Neuson
wheel loader WL20e with electric drive system.
Wacker Neuson dual power is the innovative concept for flexible working area rotation between inside and outside:
For efficient excavator work in closed spaces, simply connect the electro-hydraulic power unit HPU8 to the travel gear of
the Wacker Neuson excavator 803 dual power, and then complete your excavation work completely free of emissions. The
performance of your excavator remains unchanged, thanks to the powerful electric motor. The excavator also retains its full
mobility in emission-free operation.
Zero emissions without compromising performance – the battery-powered wheel loader WL20e makes it possible. It handles
all of the work for you completely electrically while you retain the advantages of the traditional wheel loader: All attachments can
be used fully and the time-tested and proven operating philosophy remains unchanged. You will therefore be making an active
contribution to the reduction of CO2 and noise emissions as well as soot particles – and
you also benefit from low operating and maintenance costs!

Not to be surpassed in strength:
the vibratory plate DPU130r.
Stay productive at any outdoor temperature:
Hydronic heaters for surfaces and spaces.
Compact, flexible, and mobile: At just 1,200 kilograms, the remote-control vibratory plate DPU130r is a real lightweight – and yet
nevertheless achieves the compaction performance of a 7-ton roller. The concept with two base plates makes the DPU130r
precisely controllable and therefore extremely maneuverable. The operator is exposed to significantly less loads from vibrations,
dust, and noise, due to the infra-red remote control.
With the hydronic heaters for spaces and surfaces, climate-induced work breaks due to frost and cold are a thing of the past:
For the highly efficient heating fluid circuit for applications with heating hoses and heat exchangers creates the ideal working
conditions in all temperature conditions. This ensures planning security – and increases the productivity of your employees
through an optimal working environment. In addition, the products are highly energy-efficient.

Crazy ideas, efficient solutions:
The Vertical Digging System (VDS) for compact excavators.
Work efficiently with the highest level of safety: the driver
assistance system Vertical Lift System (VLS) for telehandlers.
With the Vertical Digging System (VDS) from Wacker Neuson, you are in the perfect working position. The variable tilting of the
revolving superstructure by up to 15 degrees compensates for gradients up to 27% in no time at all: You will therefore shorten your
trench application time, increase productivity, comfort and efficiency – and save up to 25 percent in materials, fuel and emissions!
Work optimally in complete safety – with the Vertical Lift System (VLS), you will master this challenge with ease. The smooth and
rapid lowering of the telescopic arm and the semi-automatic telescopic movement allow you a fluid working principle. In addition,
you benefit from the highest stability of your machine through almost
vertical lifting and lowering motions, which also optimally support
less experienced operators in their work.
