A.S. in Engineering Technology
Department of Natural Science
The Associate of Science degree in political science is intended for students planning to transfer to a baccalaureate program in
political science or international relations at other universities and colleges in Georgia and other states.
Please Note:
1. While substantial effort will be made to ensure accuracy of the material stated herein, Middle Georgia State University
reserves the right to change any provision listed in this program of study, including but not limited to academic
requirements for graduation, without actual notice to individual students. Every effort will be made to keep students
apprised of such changes. If these degree requirements diverge from or conflicts with University System of Georgia Board of
Regents (BoR) policy, BoR policy will always take precedence.
2. The Engineering Technology program of study is heavily dependent on meeting pre-requisites, meaning that many classes
are in a sequence where certain courses must be successfully completed before starting the next class.
3. A minimum grade of C is required to satisfy any pre-requisite requirements.
4. Essential Skills courses must be completed in the first 30 hours of coursework.
5. All students must take ONE Global Overlay course. These are courses marked by an Asterisk (*)
6. MGSC students should plan to complete approximately 30 credit hours per year to complete this program in 2 years.
7. Courses marked with a double Asterisk (**) are the preferred courses.
8. Students interested in the Transfer Program to Georgia Tech are strongly encouraged to consider the AS Physics program of
study.
9. AI1, IB2, CLEP3, and DSST4 credit is available for select courses in this major. See catalog for complete listing of credit by
examination and required score. Before taking CLEP or DSST consult with your advisor prior to the exam to make sure it will
fit in the degree program. Additional directives: http://www.mga.edu/testing-services/
