Neuer Kabelbaum-Einbausatz Maxum II
Zusammenfassung
Um die Verdrahtung des Maxum II zu vereinfachen, ist der große Kabelbaum durch mehrere, einzelne und kleinere
Kabel ersetzt worden. Diese Kabel werden nur nach Bedarf in einer gegebenen Applikation installiert.
Der Bedarf nach einigen dieser Kabel wird zukünftig weiter reduziert.
Dieser Kabelsatz bleibt vollständig abwärtskompatibel mit allen Systemen. Der große Kabelbaum ist nicht mehr
Teil des Einbausatzes, aber alle Teile, die den Satz ausmachten, sind im gegenwärtigen Kabelsatz einbezogen.
Kunden sollten nach dem Studium der bereitgestellten Dokumente in der Lage sein, den Kabelbaum-Einbausatz an
ein älteres System anzupassen.
New Cable Harness Kit Maxum II
Siemens Applied Automation has added some new features and made several minor design changes to the Maxum
II analyzer. As these features and design changes become available, we will be sending out tech tips explaining the
changes. To simplify the wiring of the Maxum II, the large cable Harness has been replaced with several smaller
cables. These cables will only be installed as needed on a given application. As some of the other design changes
are implemented, the need for some of these cables will be further reduced.
Compatibility: This kit remains fully backward compatible with all systems. The large cable harness is no longer
part of the kit but all of the parts that made up the harness are included in the current kit.
Customers should be able to adapt the kit to an older system by following the information provided in the User
Information document.
Cables: The I2C Module Cable, 2021757-001, is used to connect the Wiring Distribution Board to any one of the
three SNE Modules, any one of the three SVCM Modules or to the PECM. A fully loaded system will have seven of
these cables, where a minimum system would only have three. The I2C EPC Module Cable, 2021758-001, is a
single cable with wires for all four EPC modules connecting them to the Wiring Distribution Board. The new
Heater Control Cable, 2021759-001/-002/-003, comes in three lengths depending on which SNE location is used to
control a heater. Wires for both DPM Heater channels are included in one cable to the PECM.

ID Plugs: The Module ID plug defines the address (1, 2, 3 or 4) or location of a given I2C module. The Module ID
Plugs are now a separate part that is not attached to the I2C cable. The part numbers are:

Module ID #1 Plug, 2021756-001, can be used for the LEFT SNE, the lower right SVCM or the bottom EPC. The
kit includes enough plugs to cover all of the modules in a fully loaded system plus one spare plug. The plugs are
simply a set of jumpers that connect pins 8 and 5 to a binary count equal to the ID number. ID #1 has pins 8 and 5
connected to pin 1, ID #2 has pins 8 and 5 connected to pin 2, ID #3 has pins 8 and 5 connected to pins 1 & 2, and
ID #4 has pins 8 and 5 connected to pin 3.
The Box ID will default to Box 1 or ID 11: Box ID's other than 11 will required a custom cable or ID plug. There
are very few systems that don't use the Box ID of 11: so this should not be a problem.
