GSMX-AUDIO and GSMV-AUDIO, Audio Cable Routing Instructions

Routing Instructions for the GSMX-AUDIO cable.
1.
At the GSMX, loosen the captive cover screw and swing the
cover open. Open the enclosure where the AVS Base Unit
resides.
2.
Ensure power is removed by disconnecting the GSMX’s ECP
cable, and powering down the control and AVS Base Unit.
3.
Connect the 5-pin end of the audio cable to the audio
connector on the GSMX circuit board.
4.
Route the audio cable to the connector on the AVS Base
Unit.
5.
Connect the 4-pin end of the audio cable to the
connector on the AVS Base Unit.
6.
Ensure the audio cable ends are secured with tie
wraps to reduce strain.
7.
At the GSMX, connect the ECP cable. Close the cover
and tighten the captive screw.
8.
At the AVS Base Unit, close the enclosure.
9.
Power up the system, and test.

Routing Instructions for the GSMV-AUDIO cable

At the GSMV, remove the cover screw if present. Using a
medium blade screwdriver, release the communicator’s
cover by depressing the two locking tabs at the bottom of
the unit.
6.
Secure the small PC board and plastic standoff with two
[2] screws. Note the standoff mounts on the right side.
7.
Ensure power is removed by disconnecting the battery
cables, and remove the source of power supplying TB1
pins 1, 2 and 3. Depending on the system, this may be a
transformer or other source.
Route the audio cable to the connector on the AVS Base
Unit and connect the cable.
8.
Ensure the audio cable ends are secured with tie wraps to
reduce strain.
9.
Power up the source of power supplying TB1 pins 1, 2
and 3. Depending on the system, this may be a transformer or other source. Attach the battery cables.
3.
Power down the control and AVS Base Unit.
4.
At the GSMV, remove two [2] screws and standoff that
secure the small PC board, and swing up.
5.
Connect one end of the audio cable to the audio connector
located on the small PC board.
10. Power up the control and AVS Base Unit.
11. Close all enclosure covers (not shown) and secure with
screw as necessary. Test the system.
