Siemens Motion Hearing Aid Family with
Innovative Technology and a New Design
New, slim housing for even more discretion and wearing comfort
Versatile, high-performing and rechargeable
Extraordinarily natural sound and improved speech intelligibility
Siemens just introduced the newest models of their successful Motion series at the
American Academy of Audiology’s (AAA) “AudiologyNOW!” conference in Anaheim,
California. Three of the four housing forms in this series, which is particularly
popular among more experienced hearing aid wearers, have become slimmer,
which makes them even more discreet and comfortable to wear behind the ear. In
addition, all of the Motion hearing systems are now available with the newest
generation of Siemens’ own BestSound Technology, called Micon. Micon was
developed as part of Siemens’ Healthcare Initiative Agenda 2013. The technology
enables not only better speech intelligibility and directional hearing, but also
additional automatic settings, which results in an especially natural sound and
increased wearing comfort.
The Motion hearing systems have been on the market since 2008 and have become
one of the most popular Behind-the-Ear hearing aid families, particularly with
experienced wearers. Motion hearing aids are suitable for mild to profound hearing
loss and can be connected to modern communications and consumer electronics
devices wirelessly by remote control. They also synchronize wirelessly in cases
where both ears are equipped with hearing devices – a technology developed by
Siemens that recently won the German Future Prize, awarded by the German
President. Furthermore, the SX and PX device versions have the option of running
on either regular or rechargeable batteries. If the rechargeable battery option is
selected, the hearing aids are simply placed in the charger, called eCharger,

overnight and are ready to use in the morning.
The new Motion models are also distinguishable from previous models in
appearance. The housings were made distinctly slimmer, so they are now even less
conspicuous and more comfortable to wear behind the ear than before. At the same
time, the M and P models were provided with an integrated audio shoe, which
enables connectivity with additional devices. For example, a separate microphone
can transmit sound directly into the hearing aid. The hearing impaired person can
therefore understand his or her partner, teacher or tour guide wearing the
microphone especially clearly and distinctly.
Because many hearing impaired people suffer from tinnitus, Siemens has equipped
the Motion series with a special tinnitus program. Depending on the ambient
sounds, it generates an individually adjustable noiser or masker, which distracts
from the tinnitus while concurrently accentuating speech.
Motion hearing devices are available in various performance levels and 13 different
colors. The housing is dustproof, protected against dampness and interchangeable.
A hearing aid professional can exchange the housing if, for instance, the wearer’s
taste in colors changes. All of the operating elements, the audio shoe and the
battery compartment can be specially secured, so that children, for example, cannot
open them by accident. Today, Motion has become a favorite with hearing impaired
children and young adults because of its versatility and wearing characteristics. The
new slimmer housing also makes it an even better fit for babies’ ears.
Launched in November 2011 by the Siemens Healthcare Sector, “Agenda 2013” is a
two-year global initiative to further strengthen the Healthcare Sector’s innovative
power and competitiveness. Specific measures will be implemented in four fields of
action: Innovation, Competitiveness, Regional Footprint, and People Development.
