To maintain the surface finish, simply wipe occasionally with a mild detergent on a soft damp cloth. Dry,
using a soft cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners or chemical household cleaners and avoid contact with
concentrated bleach.
Maintenance
No regular maintenance is required for this product.
In case of complete replacement Pegler recommend service valves should be fitted to the supply inlets.
For any further help or replacement parts please contact the Service Support Team on 0800 1560050.
Regulations
It is important to ensure that the water supplies to your taps and mixers are connected in accordance with
the water regulations (WRAS) requirements and good plumbing practice.
If the water flow streams are separate all the way to the outlet of the fitting, then there is no requirement to fit
check valves to the cold and hot pipes even if the supply pressures are unbalanced.
It is recommended that in all new and refurbishment installations a thermostatic mixing valve should be
installed on the hot inlet supply. The thermostatic mixing valve is designed to prevent scalding when using
the hot water supply.

thoroughly and leaving it with the user for future reference.
Introduction
The PERFORMA 890-2, 893-2 and and/or 883-2 self closing non concussive shower valves
and bib taps use a limescale resistance cartridge which gives many years of trouble free
service. The piston operated cartridge controls the flow of water from a minimum of 0.2 bar
to a maximum 3.0 bar. Should you have any problems or technical queries with either of
these products please telephone 0870 1200285, or fax us on 01302 560537.
Water Regulations Requirements
It is important to ensure that the water supplies to your taps and mixers are connected in
accordance with the water regulations (WRAS) requirements and good plumbing practice.
This products has been designed to function on all types of water systems
Please Note: If a pump is to be installed to boost gravity supplies please refer to the pump
manufactures instructions.
Pipe Connections
IMPORTANT. Before making any inlet pipe connections all supplies MUST be thoroughly
flushed to remove any debris. Failure to do so could result in damage or low flow from
the valves. It is a requirement of Byelaw 55 of the Water Fittings Byelaw Scheme that this
function is undertaken before making any pipe connections to supplies. It is also Pegler’s
recommendation and good plumbing practice that a service valve also (Pegler PB300)
should be installed upstream in the inlet supply lines and appropriate filters inline before the
terminal fitting.
All valves are supplied with ½” BSP inlet and outlet and complete with nuts and olives.
To reduce pressure to the optimum level we also recommend the use of a Pegler Pressure
Reducing Valve. For use on pressures between 1.1/2 bar to 5.1/2 bar - product code 5A2001
for ½” pipe or 5A2002 for ¾” pipe.
General Installation Notes
• Care must be taken during installation to prevent any risk of damage to the product or
injury to installer.
• Installation must be carried out by a qualified and competent person and in accordance
with the instructions supplied.
• Installations must comply with all Local and National Water Authority Regulations, and
Building/Plumbing Regulations.
• Please ensure that you have read and understood all sections of this manual before
installation.
• Please ensure no soldering occurs near the tap. Any soldering required should be done
before the valve is installed as any heat generated can damage the cartridge and seals.
• It is also Pegler Yorkshire’s recommendations that in-line filters are installed to the valves.
Isolation valves near to the valves are also recommended to allow individual isolation for
servicing and maintenance.

Pre-Installation Checks
• Ensure that there is sufficient space to install the product without hampering its
operation.
• Ensure all pipe work has been thoroughly flushed before any installation takes place.
Installation of Exposed Shower Valve 890-2
1. Determine the position of the shower valve allowing sufficient height for any riser pipe or
spray head options.
2. Route supply pipework to shower valve, flush pipework thoroughly.
3. Offer shower valve complete with assembled flange to the wall and mark location on
screw holes.
4. Drill wall and fix wall plugs.
Please Note: For best fixing results please try and ensure that suitable depth for screwing
is allowed. Using wooden framework for studded wall is suitable.
5. Screw shower valve to wall – Ensuring that the valve body is correctly positioned (arrows
stamped on the body show direction of flow) the inlet supply is the bottom connection.
If fitted incorrectly the self closing action will not operate correctly.
6. Connect supply pipework and depress the button for 2-3 minutes clear away any
remaining debris in the pipework.
Please Note: For ease of checking and disassembly if needed the test here is done
without any shower head or riser pipe fitted. To help control the water when testing a spare
shower hose screwed to the outlet will control the direction of water flow.
7. Depress button once more and check time/delay, flow and self closing action is
functioning correctly. See time adjustment and flow adjustment sections for
detail on how to change the factory set positions.
8. Connect shower head and riser pipe.
Installation of Concealed Shower Valve 893-2
1. The concealed shower valve has a built in depth adjustment of 14mm (see dimensional
drawing) From back of the valve to finished wall surface the dimensions 50mm to
maximum 66mm. Please adhere to these critical dimensions.
2. Determine the position of the shower valve.
3. Route supply pipework to shower valve, flush pipework thoroughly.
4. Position shower valve in the desired position and ensure that appropriate pipework can
be positioned from shower valve to shower head.
5. Pipework should be firmly clamped to the wall near the valve prevent movement of valve
when operated.
6. Fit the shower valve to wall – Ensuring that the valve body is correctly positioned (arrows
stamped on the body show direction of flow) the inlet supply is the bottom connection.
If fitted incorrectly the self closing action will not operate correctly.
8. Depress button once more and check time/delay, flow and self closing action is
functioning correctly. See time adjustment and flow adjustment sections for
detail on how to change the factory set positions.
9. Make good the wall surface ensuring that the built in depth dimensions are adhered to.
10.Place chrome flange over push button shower valve and push back until it meets with
the finished wall surface. For a complete watertight seal run a bead of clear silicon sealant
around the underside of the flange.
11.Connect shower head to exposed shower arm.
Installation of Bib Tap 883-2
1. Determine the position of the exposed bib tap.
2. Route supply pipework to shower valve, flush pipework thoroughly.
3. Offer the complete bib tap with assembled flange to the wall and mark location on screw
holes.
4. Drill wall and fix wall plugs.
Please Note: For best fixing results please try and ensure that suitable depth for screwing
is allowed. Using wooden framework for studded wall is suitable.
5. Screw bib tap to wall
6. Connect supply pipework and depress the button for 2-3 minutes clear away any
remaining debris in the pipework.
7. Depress button once more and check time/delay, flow and self closing action is functioning
correctly. See time adjustment and flow adjustment sections for detail on
how to change the factory set positions.
8. Make good the wall surface ensuring that the built in depth dimensions are adhered to.
Time Adjustment: If the time delay factory set is not acceptable then it can be can be
adjusted to a maximum 22 seconds. First locate the time variable control hole at the side
of the indice hole on the front handle and with the use of the Allen key provided locate
internally the time delay screw. Adjustment of the time delay is done easily by simply rotating
clockwise to decreases the time and rotating anti-clockwise to increases the time.
Flow Adjustment: The Pegler Yorkshire collection of self closing shower valves also offer
adjustable flow control to be used in conjunction with the variable time delay feature.
The adjustment is made by carefully unscrewing the head of the valve (locate carefully
spanner on hexagon below push handle and unscrew – being careful not to damage
the chrome finish) Once unscrewed you will notice 4 slotted windows around the plastic
cartridge. By pulling the plastic cartridge away from the valve head it can be re positioned at
in further 4 separate locations each 90 degrees from its previous position.
Once the correct position has been reached then the cartridge can be positioned back
into the brass shower valve body. Located and then retighten using spanner being careful
not to damage the chrome finish on the hexagon once more.
Please Note: The valve head should not be over tightened as this can damage the plastic
cartridge inside.
