They are suitable for all types of students, beginners to advanced. It is for people who want to progress to further academic study or if you simply want to improve your English. What is NZCEL? New Zealand Certificates in English Language. 2. What level is right for me? You may already know your ability, but to make sure you join the right class, you will be assessed before you start your English course. Assessment is by EIT’s Online Placement Test, or you can provide an IELTS result if you already have one. EIT will contact you once you have accepted an offer to study at EIT to organise the EIT placement test. 3. How long do I need to study? Our academic English programmes are for a minimum of 16 weeks. 4. Can I study more than one programme? Yes you can. If you pass one NZCEL programme you can move to the next level. 5. Do I get a qualification at the end of my programme? You will receive a nationally recognised qualification if you pass your level 3 or level 4 NZCEL academic courses. NZCEL ASSESSMENTS Assessments vary for each programme, but include assignments, practical and written assessments, role-plays, verbal presentations. Assessment assistance is available through the EIT Learning Hub for everyone to prepare and perform well. Some courses include assessment against National Qualifications Framework unit standards. CUSTOMISED ENGLISH LANGUAGE EIT’s English Language Centre provides customised tours for groups of students wanting to study English. Each programme is structured to suit the needs of the individual group, and normally includes specially designed English language classes and social community activities in the afternoons and weekends. Accommodation is arranged with homestay families. Whatever your group’s requirements, we can customise a tour that suits. You may want to solely focus on learning English and nothing else. Or, you might want a mix of English language classes, cultural experiences, and adventure tourism. Just contact us so we can discuss putting together a programme suited just for you and your group.
