Slide chain coupler onto drive shaft. The chain coupler Harvest International T8 Electric Motor Option Assembly Manual Page 4 of 12 may need to be unassembled for ease of installation. To do this take off the clip on the connector link of the chain. When chain coupler is on the drive shaft secure it with a 3/8” x 2-1/4” hex flange bolt & flange nut. Fig. 1.1 Step 2 (Gearbox Installation) First, locate gearbox (30176) and place it on the upper most gearbox mount bracket. Slide the spline shaft of the gearbox into the chain coupler. Be sure that the side with the extended casting and short shaft is off to the left side. (See Fig. 2.1) Secure the gearbox to the tube by using (4) 1/2" x 1” hex bolts & lock washers. Fig. 2.1 Step 3 (Mount & Slide Assembly) Next, place one of the motor mount support arms (30991) and one band clamps (11419) around the tube and Harvest International T8 Electric Motor Option Assembly Manual Page 5 of 12 secure with (4) 3/8” x 2” hex flange bolts & flange nuts. No not tighten. Place the support arms about 35-7/8” from front of the gearbox mount bracket. (See Fig. 3.2) Fig. 3.2 Fig. 3.1 Step 4 Next, locate & bolt on motor slide frame (30612) to the support arms using (4) 3/8” x 1-1/4” bolts & flange nuts. Tighten these bolts. Be sure that the threaded rod is up, pointed towards the discharge end of the auger. Step 5 Next; place the other support arms and band clamp around the tube and on the motor slide frame. Secure the support arms with (4) 3/8” x 1-1/4” bolts & flange nuts to the frame & (4) 3/8” x 1-1/2” hex flange bolts & flange nuts around the tube. Tighten all bolts including the 4 bolts from the first set of support arms. Fig. 4.1 Harvest International T8 Electric Motor Option Assembly Manual Page 6 of 12 Fig. 5.1 Step 6 Next; locate the motor end guard support bracket (10817). Secure the bracket to the lower end of the slide frame by using (2) 3/8” x 1” carriage bolts & flange nuts. Before tightening the bolts, place bracket so the front face with the slotted holes is flush with the outside edge of the slide frame. (See Fig. 6.2) Fig. 6.1 Fig. 6.2 Step 7 (Motor Assembly) Next; install the electric motor. The electric motor should be installed to the 2 slide brackets inside the slide frame. One of the brackets will be secured to the threaded rods and the other will be free to move. Secure the motor to the first bracket & then slide the other to line up with the other holes in the motor and secure. Harvest International does not supply the electric motor or mounting hardware for this step. Harvest International T8 Electric Motor Option Assembly Manual Page 7 of 12 Step 8 (Belt Guard Assembly) Fig. 7.1on the gearbox. Orientate the bracket as shown in Next, locate & install gearbox guard support bracket (10818) fig. 8.1. Secure the bracket by using (4) 5/16” x 1/2" hex bolts & lock washers. Fig. 8.1 Step 9 Next, locate the inner guard assembly (30629). Secure this to the gearbox guard support bracket & the motor end guard support bracket by using a total of (6) 5/16” x 3/4" hex flange bolts & flange nuts. Do not tighten at this time. Allow inner guard to rotate about the gearbox. The motor may have to be adjusted so the drive shaft of the motor goes into the slot on the end of the inner guard. Harvest International T8 Electric Motor Option Assembly Manual Page 8 of 12 Fig. 9.1 Step 10 Next, install the long (10820) & short (10821) end belt guards. Orientate both as shown in fig. 10.1 & secure with a total of (4) 5/16” x 3/4" hex flange bolts & flange nuts. Fig. 10.1 Step 11 (Sheave Assembly) Next, locate the 2 belt sheave (10359) & the 6 spline hub (10358). Slide both the hub & the sheave onto the shaft with the hub face onto the shaft about 1/4". Secure the hub and sheave with (2) 1/4" x 3/4" hex bolts & lock washer as shown in fig. 11.2. Be careful when tightening these bolts not to break them off. Harvest International T8 Electric Motor Option Assembly Manual Page 9 of 12 Fig. 11.1 Fig. 11.2 Step 12 Next, place a 5” sheave on the motor. Harvest International does not supply this sheave or the mounting parts & hardware for this step. Be sure to align this sheave with the top sheave mounted to the gearbox. Fig. 12.1 Step 13 (Belt Assembly) Next, place the 2 belts (10819) around both sheaves. (See Fig. 13.1) The motor may have to be slid towards the gearbox to allow enough room to install the belts. To do this, loosen the outer most nuts on the slide frame. This will along the motor to slide towards the gearbox. Once the belts are around the sheaves, tighten up the belts by tightening the nuts on the outside of the slide frame until the middle of the bolt only moves about 1” in the middle. Harvest International T8 Electric Motor Option Assembly Manual Page 10 of 12 Fig. 13.1 Step 14 Next, locate outer belt guard (10816) and install it around the inner guard aligning the slots with the bolts welded on to the inner guard. (See Fig. 14.1) Secure the outer guard with (6) 5/16” flange nuts. Fig. 14.1 Step 15 (Coupler Shield Assembly) Finally, locate & install the coupler shield (12529) with (4) 1/2" x 1” hex bolts & lock washer. Slide the galvanized top drive shaft guard into the coupler shield about 2” and secure them together with (2) #12 x 3/4” self tapping screws.
