Maintenance Millwright / Electrician As a Maintenance Millwright / Electrician, you will be responsible for identifying repair and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading of the electrical and mechanical systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades and ensuring that tools and materials are available at all responsible sites (LM & CF) to ensure a successful maintenance program during office hours and after hours as required. Location: Job Function: Employment Contract Type: Division/Function: Publication ID: Modderfontein, Gauteng, South Africa Service and Maintenance Regular/Permanent, Full-Time Country CCFO/ Group CFO ZA54671269_E1 Tasks You as Maintenance Millwright / Electrician will be primarily responsible for the following: Safety: -Ensure compliance to safety, health, environment and quality requirements as well as strict adherence to the ABB standards and practices and compliance to the OHS act. -Support ABB's Integrity training and initiatives. -Zero incidents and zero accidents. -Ensure good housekeeping practices are adhered to in area of control. -Participate in all toolbox talks, SHE and customer meetings as required. -Conduct safety related SOT's and promote/support safety 1 Maintenance Millwright / Electrician initiatives. -Conduct Task Observations on peers. -Assist in the writing of work permits and risk assessments. -Assist with: Create/modify Save Work Procedures. Finance: - Be involved in the budget preparation (Tools/equipment/spares required). - Support budget savings initiatives. Maintenance activities: - Performs routine, preventive and corrective maintenance according to job work lists and according to agreed schedule for ensuring the on-going functioning of Electrical and Mechanical systems. -Inspects Electrical and Mechanical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, predict deteriation, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance actions. -Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures, identify the spares/equipment required and repair/action accordingly (RCFA). -Conduct annual COC on the complete electrical system. DB’s to be scheduled in groups. -Conduct thermal scans on a periodic basis. -Familiarise yourself with the use, operation, maintenance and repairs of the factory sectional doors, perforated steel doors and Roller Shutter doors. -Fabricates equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts. -Installs new / refurbished equipment and systems for providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities. -Refurbish equipment where possible. -Communicate task progress with Facility Maintenance Management. -Maintain tools and equipment for ensuring availability in safe operating condition. -(QCA) Quality management of work done by self and contractors. -Assist in the development/revising of maintenance plans (PM) and procedures (Job plans, safety plans and risk assessment, Safety) for all equipment/activities. -Submit all completed Job Cards with the necessary comments on a daily basis but not later than the end of the week and maintain the CMMS as per responsibility. -Respond to emergencies during and/or after hours for resolving immediate safety issues and restore equipment availability and functionality. -Assist with all other technical related work, in other discipline (Cross field skills - Succession plan). -Liaison with managers, planner and the maintenance team to ensure work progress and the follow-up of spares and the collection thereof. -Inform / share any complaints regardless the nature of the complaint to Facility Maintenance Management. -Shall carry out all relevant/appropriate tasks as requested by management. Requirements The following criteria will make you an ideal fit for the requirement; -Relevant tertiary engineering qualification (N4 or equivalent). -Millwright / Electrician trade certificate and Electrical Installation wireman’s licence. -Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship experience. -Excellent technical knowledge in his field. -The ability to read technical drawings. -Analytical thinker with the ability to do fault finding. -Capability to work with hands. -Adapting to changing work priorities. -Multi discipline skilled (Mechanical, electrical, HVAC, AV, Plumbing and Welding). -Working at heights. -Ability to work in a group but also to work alone. -Maintenance experience in facility maintenance is an advantage. -Working knowledge of SAP or CMMS is an advantage. -Computer literate (MS Office). -Write user friendly operating manuals. -Self-motivated and good communication skills at all levels. -Overtime and standby. -Valid SA driver’s license.
