Storage If not immediately used, store the switch-disconnectors in a well protected, dry and ventilated place, positioning them according to the instructions on packaging. Do not absolutely lift the load break switch through insulators. Handling Be careful when handling switch-disconnectors, avoiding bumps and accidental solicitations and, in the case of use of fork lift, put it on the forks according to the right position as shown on packaging. Do not absolutely lift the load break switch through insulators. Installation and use • Before installing, verify the integrity of the switch-disconnector. • Re-connect levers for the switch-disconnector operating (rif 1) • Re-connect lock rod of upper earthing switch (only type VE) (rif. 2) • Fix with hinge the levers for insulated rod operation on switch-disconnector and earthing switch operating shafts (switch-disconnector rod l=400 mm, earthing switch rod l=200 mm); the switch is pre-fitted for setting up the levers for insulated rod operation on both the sides (rif.3) • Connect line-earth interlock as follows: Open earth switch, insert interlock tubular on frame hole, with the button hole turned to the earth shaft fix tubular to crank with hinge and security ring (rif.4) Fix the upper and lower extraction mechanism on each fuse-link, to permit fuse’s change using insulated rod (rif. 5) TYPE VS 12/24 kV Fitting up the switch disconnector Fit up the switch-disconnector directly on the wall or to a sheet-steel, verify that the surface is perfectly plain to avoid mechanical stress and torsions when screwing bolts in fixing holes. Electric connections To put on correctly main electric connections: Elettropicena Sud s.r.l. Delta Systems s.r.l. Bars connection must have smooth and uniform surface, good appearance and excellent adhesion. Before connecting, clean accurately using a clean cloth soaked with trielina, removing every trace of grease or dust. When screwing connecting bolts, use contemporarily two spanners, to avoid to stress the insulating parts Earthing connections Using frame holes, connect earth busbars to a conductor more than 50 sq mm. The connection must have the least resistance, and connections surfaces must be clean and degreased. After connecting bolts, spread on a spinning veil of pure Vaseline. Operating procedure closing switch disconnector • Set the lever for insulated rod operation on switch-disconnector right side. • Rotate counterclockwise operating shaft, to charge closing spring. • Turn back clockwise operating shaft until the initial position. • Switch-disconnector closes. Opening switch disconnector • Set the lever for insulated rod operation on switch-disconnector right side. • Rotate counterclockwise operating shaft. • Open Switch-disconnector. Closing earth switch disconnectors Keep on rotating until the stop position, to permit earthing switch closure Maintenance According to CEI 17-21 operating conditions, contacts must be lubricated every 36 months, as here described: • Clean insulators using a clean and dry cloth; • Clean accurately and spread a spinning veil of pure vaseline on arcs mobile contact and fixed and mobile main contacts.
