The Caldic water-cooled generator series was
introduced in 2009 and is a combined effort of
Stamford and Caldic. Stamford’s long tradition of
building rugged and reliable synchronous generators
and Caldic’s product and market knowledge were
combined to modify the standard Stamford
generator to a reliable Water Cooled version.

The standard Stamford synchronous AC
generator equipped with the superior PMG
excitation system is available as totally
enclosed with build-on water-cooler.
Benefits of the totally enclosed water-cooled generator are:

Reduced noise level – 10 dB(A)
Less heat into the engine room, up to 4 % of the nominal power.
Less air circulation in the engine room, smaller ventilation system needed.
Closed generator, so no chemicals or dust into the generator and longer
service / inspection intervals.
Air to Air Cooled Generator for Marine and
Industrial applications
The Caldic air to air -cooled generator series was
introduced in 2012 and is a combined effort of
Stamford and Caldic. Stamford’s long tradition
of building rugged and reliable synchronous
generators and Caldic’s product and market
knowledge were combined to modify the
standard Stamford generator to a reliable Air
Cooled version.

building rugged and reliable synchronous generators
and Caldic’s product and market knowledge were
combined to modify the standard Stamford
generator a generator who is able to start up and
run as an electromotor.

The standard Stamford synchronous AC generator equipped with the superior
PMG excitation system and a centrifugal switch on the shaft closed during
start- up and controlled by a power factor controller when running as a
synchronous motor.
Benefits of the system are that we can deliver a
standard Stamford generator used for PTO
operation and, with a small modification on
the shaft (centrifugal-switch), can be used as an
electro motor which will give extra power to the
main propulsion system, but which also can
start- up the propeller from zero to nominal speed
depending on the added variable power of the
auxiliary gen-sets.
