What happens when you combine drama, dance, yoga,
mindfulness, and nature into a creative new recipe? Calling all
7-11 year olds! Come and taste the adventure!
We’ll spend the first part of the afternoon warming up with yoga
and talking about what it means to be mindful in all of our actions.
Next, we’ll use play as a basis for exploring the performing arts
of drama, dance, and a bit of music. Our improvisation - or play will be turned into short plays called skits. You, the student, will
collaborate with your peers to create the stories, the characters,
and the lines you speak.
Finally, we’ll combine mindfulness and the arts into an outdoor,
ephemeral art exploration. We’ll use nature as a backdrop and
props for dance. We’ll make art with nature objects. We’ll create
outdoor adventure skits, and we’ll photograph and film our
creations and put together a short iMovie.

Video Game Creation
Ages: 8 - 14 years old
Dates/Times: August 22 - 26, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon

learning to program your own games will be. Your imagination
is the limit as you use GameMaker software to create maze,
strategy, and a variety of other types of games. You’ll learn
about creating sprites, objects, events and actions. Design a
room, make it look the way you want, add objects and play
your game. We’ll teach you how to display health, lives, score,
splash screens and high score tables. Using drag and drop
programming, you’ll be creating exciting, professional looking
games you can play with your friends.
• You can keep making games when you get home as the
software is an inexpensive download from the Internet. If
you think you’ve got a great idea for a game, you want to
see what it would be like to be a game designer, or you just
think computer games are fun, this class is for you. You must
be experienced using a computer to take this class. If you’ve
taken our Game Creation After School Class, this class goes
into greater depth and reinforces previous learning.

and narration. Design your own set with backgrounds,
characters, and scenery. The stories are up to your
