VERSABEAMTM luminaire with, ordering number _____ (specify JVS, JVD or JVP, plus ordering number logic from cata‑ log) or approved equal, to operate one _____ (specify [35, 50, 70, 100 or 150(55v)] watt high pressure sodium [HPS], [175 or 250] watt metal halide or [70, 100, 150, 175 or 250] watt pulse start metal halide) lamp from a nominal _____(specify 120, 208, 240, 277, 347 or 480) volt 60 Hz or (110, 220, 230 or 240) volt 50 Hz power source. The luminaire shall include a completely prewired integral ballast and optical assembly. The luminaire shall be suitable for continuous service indoors in a maximum ambient temperature of 40°C. The luminaire shall be UL Listed SUITABLE FOR DAMP LOCATIONS or UL LISTED FOR WET LOCATIONS depending on mounting, UL Listed for metal halide lamps in polymeric lamp containment barriers and CUL,(Canadian) Listed for Indoor Locations. Standard construc‑ tion is IP54. MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION The luminaire shall be shipped as a completely assembled fix‑ ture including medium base lamp installed in socket for quick installation. (Mogul base lamps included but not installed). A heavy duty medium base socket, (mogul base socket for 250 watt), with superior lamp gripping shall be mounted to the ballast housing. The socket shall have the ability to handle the higher pulse ratings of newer HID systems. The ballast housing and optical assembly shall be provided with easy‑to‑read moisture‑resistant nameplates which can be seen without disturbing the installed luminaire. The luminaire shall include provision for optional field mounting of safety chain. The ballast housing shall be made of die-cast aluminum. The ballast housing shall have a polyester powder paint finish (gray finish shall be acrylic electrocoat). Ballast housing shall have capability to have a different color accent reveal stripe. BALLAST OPERATION The luminaire shall contain a standard _____ (specify Autoreg or Lag type ballast* in full compliance with lamp‑ballast speci‑ fications available to the fixture manufacturer from the lamp manufacturers at the time of fixture manufacture. The ballast shall reliably start and operate the lamp in ambient temperatures down to ‑20°F for metal halide or ‑40°F for HPS. The luminaire and ballast shall be from the same manufacturer. OPTICAL ASSEMBLY The optical assembly shall be enclosed and gasketed to pre‑ vent entrance of particulate contaminants. The refractor shall be UV stabilized injection molded prismatic heat-resistant acrylic and shall be attached to ballast housing with a die cast ring that is captive during relamping.
