FOR A QUIETER LIFE When it comes to peace and quiet in your own home, nobody wants to have to worry about the noises in the neighbourhood. Peace and quiet and being able to shut yourself off from the noisy world outside – both are important for our regeneration and health. KLH and Schallfresser, both experienced and reputed manufacturers, have worked intensively on noise and sound insulation, to develop efficient sound insulation systems. SOUND INSUL ATION MAT TERS E X A MPLES OF SOUND SOUR CES in decibel [dB] Sound insulation is the key when it comes to constructional measures to limit the transmission of sound between rooms. This is true for both outside noise, as well as internal noise between adjacent rooms. Jet fighter 7 m away 140 130 Passenger airplane Noise or disturbing sounds can have various causes and manifest themselves in different ways. They become most apparent in a residential building. This is where tolerance for noise and disturbing sounds is particularly low. Constant noise pollution can easily lead to temporary or even chronic health conditions. So sound insulation is not only a mere question of convenience; it is a health issue. Pain threshold 120 110 100 Power drill 90 80 L awnmower There are clearly defined requirements for sound insulation in structural engineering, which ensure regulated standards. Skilful technical advice and sound planning are essential for any effective sound protection concept. In order to meet these requirements, state-of-the-art technology provides a double partition construction. This construction method with two separated KLH solid wood panels provides a solid basis for technically efficient sound-related structures. Structures made of KLH solid wood panels are as efficient as classic solid construction solutions of similar thickness. However, solid wood constructions are five times lighter. wood panels and elements from dry construction or lightweight construction. Despite their lack of mass, the internal dampening effects of the materials and the softness of the components achieve similar or even better values than in mineral-based solid construction, for example by way of facing formwork from the Schallfresser range of products. For more than a decade, KLH Massivholz GmbH has carried out research and development in cooperation with Europe-wide recognised institutes, in order to continuously improve the soundproofing efficiency of KLH constructions. For many years now, the company has maintained its own wall and ceiling sound test rigs and has the necessary expertise to offer its clients individual solutions quickly. The basic requirements are attention to detail, knowledge of correlations in the field of soundproofing and a technically professional implementation of the sound control concept. Another option for the realisation of efficient building components is to combine KLH solid SOLID WOOD CONSTRUCTION COMBINED WITH SOUND INSUL ATION BOARDS The combination of KLH solid wood panels and Schallfresser sound insulation boards from the “Silencium” product family offers a series of technically effective and tested sound systems with components from both firms. As a result of this intense cooperation during the rigorous planning and testing of structures, we have built up extensive know-how on the implementation of efficient soundproofing solutions. Noise pollution: in order to create comfor t able living conditions, any dis turbing ambient noises mus t be reduced to a minimum by well insulating building components. 02 ARE AS OF APPLICATION KLH systems in connection with Schallfresser sound insulation boards can be used for walls and ceilings in different types of buildings. The conventional KLH solid wood panels can be freely combined with Schallfresser products, depending on the required level of sound insulation.
