Product Description Sheet Zeta® 7760 UV Wand System 1001 Trout Brook Crossing Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3910 Telephone: (860) 571-5100 FAX: (860) 571-5465 Part # 98450 North American Engineering Center, July 2005 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The ZETA® 7760 UV Wand System is a high performance system designed for spot curing applications. The typical cure area is 1/2" in diameter. The system utilizes an autoranging (90-265 VAC, 50-60 Hz) solid state power supply, a 200-watt high-pressure mercury arc lamp, a universal power supply, and a liquid light guide (sold separately) to deliver 16 – 20# W/cm2 of UV light at 250-410 nm. The extreme high-energy output results in extremely fast cure cycles, particularly when tack-free surfaces are required. The unit operates by engaging a foot switch that opens an internal shutter. The UV energy produced by the lamp is immediately transmitted through a flexible light guide. The time required to complete the curing process depends primarily on the distance from the end of the light guide to the surface of the adhesive and the type of adhesive used. The exposure time can be controlled in either a manual or timed mode. Depressing the foot switch operates both modes. In manual mode, the shutter will remain open as long as the foot switch is depressed. In timed mode, a momentary actuation of the foot switch starts the exposure cycle. The duration of exposure will depend on the setting of the new and improved timer that can range from 0-99.9 seconds. The Loctite® Zeta® 7760 can also be actuated by external devices. Recommendations UV cure rate is dependent on lamp intensity, distance from the light source, depth of cure needed or bondline gap and the light transmittance of the substrate through which the radiation must pass. Henkel Corporation recommends that you test all adhesive applications under simulated or actual end use conditions to ensure the adhesive meets or exceeds all required product specifications. Refer to the Loctite® Light Cure Product Selector Guide and product Technical Data Sheets for curing specifications and performance.
