It gives us an immense pleasure to invite you to
participate in the National Conference on “Recent Advances
In Integrated Pest Management”(RAIPM-2016) organized
by Department of Agrochemicals and Pest Management,
Shivaji University, Kolhapur, on 1st & 2nd March , 2016.
The conference is aimed to cover the contemporary
research in the broad areas of Agriculture such as Pesticides,
Biocontrol agents, Micronutrients, Biofertilizers, Control of
Crop Pests and Diseases etc. So as to provide a common
platform for the exchange of most recent discoveries and
developments in agriculture sector and their applications for
the progress of the society. The primary objective of the
conference is to assemble young researchers of various multi
disciplines of chemical, life scienes and to take up the
challenging areas with an aim of practical applications useful
for the benefit of mankind.
About The Place
Shivaji University, named after the great Maratha warrior
Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji University was established
in 1962 at Kolhapur to cater educational need and having a
beautiful campus of 341 hectors. Kolhapur is one of the
reputed place in Maharashtra known as “Dakshin Kashi” on
account of its deity Mahalaxmi and Jyotiba. It is famous for
Arts, Education, Sports, Leather goods, and Films industries.
Rankala lake, Panhala fort, Jotiba temples are the historical
places in Kolhapur region. It is also well known place for
Jaggery and Sugar industries.
About Dept. of Agrochemicals and Pest Management
The Department of Agrochemicals and Pest Management
established in June, 1993. This is a need based course that
meets the regional demands of socio-economic development
of the region with more than 80% placements in the
industries and agriculture sectors. The course provides a
training on the chemical analysis techniques, Applied
entomology, Plant pathology and formulation technology and
actively participated in the research in thrust research areas
such as the Synthesis of novel synthetic pesticides ,use of biopesticides, Integrated pest management, plant pathology,
micronutrient research and development of bio-control
agents.
The department offers M.Sc., M. Phil and Ph.D to the aspiring
students. The research activities of department have been
funded by UGC,DST-PURSE programmes.The dept. has
produced 15 PhD and has published more them 100 paper in
reputed journals.

corresponding and presenting author must be underlined
and send to Convener, RAIPM-2016 on E-mail addresses

com on before 5 th February, 2016. The acceptance of the
abstract will be communicated to the corresponding author
by 15 th February, 2016.
