OAEs are also efficient in identifying hearing loss in neonates and infants. Advancement in OAE technology and improved understanding of their nature have made OAE testing an important measure in routine test battery. With early identification it is possible to improve the efficacy of management of auditory disorders. Speech percep tion measures in normal hearing individuals and in individuals with various auditory dysfunctions help us to understand the problems faced by individuals with hearing impairment. This understanding in turn helps us in selecting appropriate management strategiesour speakers are leaders in the field and bring with them a wealth of experience in the subject.
