Samvaad Institute of Speech and Hearing established in 2005, celebrates its 10th
anniversary this July. After four years of successfully running the BASLP course , the MASLP

a well equipped diagnostic set up where assessments are offered at a nominal cost. We are the
only Speech and Hearing Institute offering Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) based therapy for
children with Autism. ABA is the evidence based approach that has been proved to give lasting
outcomes in the treatment of children with autism. We are also involved in outreach programs
and different public awareness campaigns.

Recent Advances in OAE technology and Speech Perception
Otoacoustic emissions (OAEs) enable early detection of inner ear abnormalities
associated with a wide variety of etiologies like noise exposure, aging and ototoxicity. OAEs
are also efficient in identifying hearing loss in neonates and infants. Advancement in OAE
technology and improved understanding of their nature have made OAE testing an important
measure in routine test battery. With early identification it is possible to improve the efficacy of
management of auditory disorders. Speech percep tion measures in normal hearing individuals
and in individuals with various auditory dysfunctions help us to understand the problems faced
by individuals with hearing impairment. This understanding in turn helps us in selecting
appropriate management strategiesour speakers are leaders in the field and bring with them a
wealth of experience in the subject.
