Product Safety Group 1201 South Second Street Milwaukee, WI USA 53204 productsafety@ra.rockwell.com PRODUCT NOTICE Notice of Potential Product Concern Rockwell Automation issues a Product Notice when it identifies a product(s) anomaly that may cause commercial or customer satisfaction concerns. CENTERLINE 2100 and CENTERLINE 2500 LVMCC 140G J-Frame Breaker with Incorrect Settings Reference: 2015-03-001 Revision: A Date: March 2015 Revision A / March 2015 – This document has been revised to include the CENTERLINE 2500 LVMCC products. Please read this revised document in its entirety. This Product Notice informs you of a potential anomaly that exists with the CENTERLINE 2100 and CENTERLINE 2500 LVMCC using the 140G J-Frame circuit breaker. Breaker trip unit dip switches may not be correctly set to the required product configuration. A required 225A setting may have been shipped as 250A. PRODUCT NOTICE Page 2 of 5 – Product Identification – The affected products are the CENTERLINE 2100 and CENTERLINE 2500 LVMCC using 140G J-Frame Breakers. CENTERLINE 2100 LVMCC 225A systems, unit catalog numbers 2193-C_C-46TJML and 2193-C_C-46TJXL: Systems using the 140G J-Frame circuit breaker catalog numbers 140G-J0H3-D25, 140G-J6H3-D25, 140GJ0X3, 140G-J6X3, and 140G-JTH3-D25. Systems shipped between February 1, 2014, and February 13, 2015. CENTERLINE 2500 LVMCC 225A systems: Systems using the 140G J-Frame circuit breaker catalog numbers 140G-J0H3-D25, 140G-J6H3-D25, 140GJ0X3, 140G-J6X3, and 140G-JTH3-D25. Systems shipped between February 1, 2014, and February 13, 2015. Affected product will be incorrectly set to 250A instead of the required 225A settings. Important – This notification addresses standard system configurations preset to 225A. Systems configured to nonstandard specifications should consult product documentation to ensure as-shipped settings are correct. Customers are advised to verify the trip settings on all circuit breakers prior to system start-up. – Description – A potential anomaly exists with the CENTERLINE 2100 and CENTERLINE 2500 LVMCC using the 140G J-Frame circuit breaker. Breaker trip unit dip switches may not be correctly set to the required product configuration. A required 225A setting may have been shipped as 250A. – Temporary Workarounds – No workaround has been identified. Switch settings must be set as described in the Correction section of this document. – Correction – ATTENTION: Only skilled personnel should oversee the maintenance and servicing of motor control centers. Equipment must be shut down and locked-out tagged-out prior to servicing. Be sure to follow industry standard safety guidelines, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow NFPA 70E requirements. Product as shipped from the factory may have been set to the breaker trip rating default of 250A. Most product specifications require this setting be changed to 225A. PRODUCT NOTICE Page 3 of 5 To prevent electric shock, disconnect equipment from power source before servicing. The “L” dip switches on the trip unit of the circuit breaker should be set as shown in the image at the left. This will set the trip rating to the required 225A. Dip switch settings should be changed using a small, non-metallic tool. General information on configuring this breaker may also be found in Rockwell Automation publication 140G-IN100A-MU, available for download from the Rockwell Automation Literature Library. A copy of this document is attached at the end of this notification for your reference. If your system requires a different trip rating for this breaker, please refer to your product documentation for details. Important – On a small number of systems, the 140G-J breaker may have been shipped with an incorrect trip unit label that covers the “L” dip switch settings not allowing you access to set the trip rating. If you have a system with the incorrect label, contact Rockwell Automation Technical Support and reference this Product Notice 2015-03-001. 140G-J breakers potentially affected with this label anomaly include catalog numbers 140G-J0H3-D25, 140G-J6H3D25, 140G-J0X3, 140G-J6X3, and 140G-JTH3-D25. – Requested Customer Action – Rockwell Automation requests you take the following actions: Check if you have a product affected by this Product Notice.
