Tapi, Gujarat, Pin 394651 No.KGuj.Site/Site Director/2014/300 4th November 2014 Report on inaugural program of newly established “Instrument Mechanic in Power Plant” (IMPP) Trade Laboratory at ITI, Mandvi In continuation of endeavor of NPCIL- Kakrapar Gujarat Site for taking up various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, a state-of-art laboratory for newly started trade of IMPP has been established at ITI, Mandvi. This laboratory is equipped with all the latest trade related equipments / tools as per Government of Gujarat norms. In year 2013, ITI, Mandvi started a new trade of IMPP based on their study of upcoming major power plants in vicinity of this area. This trade is visualized to cater industry demand of skilled manpower and aimed at providing enhanced employment opportunities to local youth. On request of Institute Management Committee (IMC) of ITI-Mandvi, a MoU was inked on 11/12/2013 to support establishment of IMPP laboratory. As per MoU, some of the tools/equipments were spared from KAPS (amounting approximately Rs.9 lakh) and rest of the tools/ equipments were purchased by ITI-Mandvi (amounting approximately Rs.17 lakh). Meanwhile, admission of 1st batch of 20 students was made and as on today 2nd batch admission process is also completed by ITI-Mandvi. The IMPP laboratory was formally inaugurated by Shri L K Jain, Site Director, Kakrapar Gujarat Site on October 20, 2014 in presence of Shri B D Jha, AD (R&R) NPCIL, Shri Aradkar, Chairman, IMC of ITI-Mandvi, Smt Jayshreeben Chaudhary, President, Mandvi Nagarpalika, Dr. Jokhakar, President, Mandvi Education Society. The Staff members & Students of ITI-Mandvi and senior officials of NPCIL were also present during the function. Page 1 of 8 In his address, Shri B D Jha, AD (R&R) NPCIL emphasized on importance of skill development and appreciated the establishment of state-of-art laboratory. Shri L K Jain, Site Director expressed satisfaction in handing over laboratory to ITIMandvi authorities and asked students to learn the practical aspects of trade so that they can have better job opportunities and can also have prospectus of selfemployment. He further said that the Kakrapar Gujarat Site will continue to support for development of students by way of arranging guest lectures by expert faculties and arranging trade related seminars. In the end of the program Principal of the ITI-Mandvi said this new laboratory will help in providing better practical exposure to students. He thanked Kakrapar Site management for the support rendered to ITI-Mandvi. Photographs taken during the function are attached.
