Dimension
Description
One- and two-lamp high-frequency electronic ballasts providing full-range dimming
capabilities to rapid-start fluorescent T-4 Quad Tube and Triple Tube lamps.
PowerSpec HDF is available in several models to control a variety of common
fluorescent sources. Ballasts can be controlled by Lightolier® HDF direct drive
dimmers or an applicable HDF amplifier or interface.
3.0" / 7.6 cm
.75" / 1.9 cm
Features
• Dimming range as low as 100 - 3% *
• The units provide a high power factor that’s greater than .98 at full power
and on low dim
• Ballasts provide a low THD of less than 10% at full power and less than 20%
on low dim
• Lamp current crest factor of less than 1.6
• Complies with the following industry standards:
- ANSI C82.11 - 1993 for ballast operation
- ANSI C62.41 - 1984 for transient protection
- FCC Part 18.C Class-A Rating
- UL- and CSA-approved
• Short- and open-circuit protection
• Class P thermal protection, type 1 indoor/outdoor
• Ballasts default to full-power “ON” when the control signal is lost
• High-frequency operation with no visible flicker
• Continuous cathode heating during start-up and throughout the dimming range
• Full, constant, regulated lumen output for a variance in line voltage of ± 10%
• Programmed Start
• Class A sound rating
• Ballast shall tolerate operating up to 70°C case temperature.
• End of lamp life protection
Specifications
1.18" / 3 cm
4.2" / 10.7 cm
NOTE: DO NOT shorten or lengthen the ballast’s lamp leads.
Ballast should not be mounted in a remote location from the fixture.
• GLT ballasts are for fixtures manufactured by Lightolier. GLT ballast is mounted
to recess fixture electrical junction box enclosure plate.
• Seasoning for fluorescent lamps: Lightolier Controls recommends that
fluorescent lamps be aged up to 100 hours before dimming to ensure optimal
performance. Consult the specific lamp manufactures lamp data for specific
lamp aging recommendations.
For Control of T4 and TTT Triple Tube Rapid-Start Fluorescent Lamps
There shall be no perceived difference between the light levels of one- and two-lamp
ballasts for the same type of lamp. Each ballast shall be U.L. and CSA-listed for both 120V
& 277V 50Hz or 60Hz. Each ballast shall allow for smooth, continuous dimming down to
as low as 3%* measured lamp lumen output. In addition, all units shall operate above
60kHz for the T-4 and 40kHz for the TTT.
Each ballast will accept line-voltage, three-wire controls (hot, neutral, signal).
Made in U.S.A.
5.0" / 12.7 cm
Like fixtures should be wired in an identical manner to ensure conformity
between different light sources. No ballast should be mounted in a remote
location from the fixture.
* Dimming Range: As low as 3% measured lamp lumen output dimming
range performance may vary based on voltage to the ballast, ambient
temperature, initial lamp burn in, and lamp life used/remaining.
