SCHLUMBERGER RESERVOIR LABORATORY
Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
The Schlumberger Reservoir Laboratory in Salt Lake City integrates
rock mechanics, core analysis, and petrology expertise to provide
customers with measurable insight into their reservoirs. The 85,000-ft2
facility houses the Geomechanics Center of Excellence, which includes
equipment that can perform large-block polyaxial stress fracture tests
and large-scale drilling simulation. Each test is carefully designed and
executed to meet a common goal—enabling customers to optimize
drilling and completion operations with reduced risk.
Specializing in unconventional projects, the Salt Lake City laboratory
globally supports characterization projects by delivering end-to-end
services—from field core acquisition to integrating in-house analytical
measurements into customized workflows. Schlumberger TerraTek
TRA* tight rock analysis service provides a comprehensive dataset,
and TerraTek HRA* heterogeneous rock analysis service integrates
the obtained data with log data to deliver a quantitative, unbiased rock
classification that can be systematically propagated from one field to
the next. Additionally, petrographic services are incorporated into the
workflow, ensuring that rock texture and fabric are accounted for in
the comprehensive reservoir characterization.
WELLSITE SERVICES AND CORE HANDLING
Reservoir laboratory staff focuses on the details of each measurement
while adhering to rigorous quality-control measures, which assures that
customers receive accurate, actionable, repeatable results. Whether
optimizing single-well operations or extending knowledge across
the entire field, Schlumberger Reservoir Laboratories enable betterinformed decisions across the entire E&P life cycle.
The Schlumberger Reservoir Laboratory in Salt Lake City provides detailed
and individual tests that are unmatched in quality.
