Dottie has extensive experience in forming, buying and selling businesses, whether small family owned businesses or publicly traded companies. She frequently represents insurance companies and agents in negotiations with the North Carolina Department of Insurance; in addition, she is one of only two lawyers in North Carolina who have extensive expertise in the rapidly expanding area of equine law. Dottie heads the firm’s Equine Law Practice Group, serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the North Carolina Horse Council and is the Chair of the Equine Law Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Animal Law Committee.
