Aeronautical Technology - Pilot Development Program (3AERO-PDP) Fast Facts About the Program Type: Technical Degree/Certificate: Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.), Certificate of Technology Duration: Two to five terms Program Objectives The San Jacinto College pilot development program Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) prepares students to obtain entry-level employment in the aviation industry. It provides the flight and ground school requirements for the private, instrument, and commercial certificates. Students obtain their flight training from one of three college-recognized Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-approved Part 141 flight schools. Graduates of this program may become charter pilots, flight instructors, corporate pilots, and employees of commuter For More Information airlines. They are also prepared to transfer to colleges or universities that offer the bachelor’s degree in aviation science. The granting of this degree is based upon the student’s successful completion of required coursework, and the obtaining of FAA private, instrument, and commercial certificates. San Jacinto College aviation program has an articulation (transfer) agreement with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. An FAA medical certificate is required for enrollment.
