Nowhere is this more common than in the hospitality industry and convention world where rooms have to function as meeting spaces, trade
fair halls, and fashion show runways while later that same day they must
become elegant banquet halls, wedding chapels, or ballrooms. Litelab’s
BusPort is a retractable platform that provides mounting support, power,
and connections for audio, video, wireless internet, and lighting equipment – there when your room needs them and gone when it does not!
The basic unit consists of a retractable, ceiling-mounted BusPort receptacle. The system stores above the ceiling behind a 6.875” [175 mm]
diameter cover plate. When needed, the system is pulled down, locked in
place 15” [381 mm] below the ceiling plane, and a mounting bar inserted
for attaching equipment.
When one BusPort unit does not fulfill the needs of a room’s size, additional ports can be positioned to provide continuous mounting points
from one end of a room to the other, or in a grid pattern 10’ [3048 mm] on
center for more complete ceiling coverage. Litelab’s round bus electrical support bars allow for plug-in power requirements between ports.
If the load is more substantial, BusPort’s truss system can be installed
for heavier objects, such as signage and movie screens.
Of course, not every unit is needed simultaneously. BusPort’s flexibility
allows the system designer to choose which units receive power for a
more economical use of the configuration. A single BusPort receptacle
can carry up to three 20 amp (max) electrical circuits at 120, 230 or 277
volts and support a maximum load of 2,500 lbs. In straight-run or grid
configurations, the system can be fed with up to six circuits every 10’
[3048 mm] or as required.

Intended for use with plasterboard or acoustical tile ceilings the BusPort
comes in three models. The BusPort and Junior BusPort, feature AC
receptacles on both sides or optional AV receptacles on one side and
power on the other. The Junior version, while similar in function,
is designed for ceiling cavities with limited space. Both units have
additional capabilities of being used as simple platforms for grids or
trusses in a non-electrical mode and/or supporting the Litelab video
mounting bracket for video projectors. The Video BusPort comes as a
kit complete with the video mounting bracket and is designed simply for
video projection where the capabilities of a full BusPort are not required.

To make your BusPort system more user-friendly, Litelab has added
a new line of light fixtures that you can focus from the floor. Whether
you are pinspotting tables or lighting a whole display with this system,
you now have the ability to hang lights, set up the items to be lit, and
then focus the lights from the floor when the setup is complete. Each
fixture can be focused and/or dimmed (individually or enmass) in up to
ten prerecorded positions. Fixtures come standard as AR-111 low voltage
up to 100 watts with various accessories available.

This model is designed to take up less space in the ceiling
cavity when retracted – 16.625” [422mm] and has most of the
same features as the standard BusPort. It can mount one
crossbar/buspipe versus two at 90 degrees and the space
for the receptacles is limited to two circuits per side. Weight
restrictions are the same as the standard BusPort.

projector only. Many room configurations require a specific
location dedicated to video projection and the solution is the
Video BusPort. Equipped with both a power outlet as well as
video connection of your choice, it allows you to easily mount
a video projector when required and easily disappears when
the room has other functions.

BusPort is a ceiling mounted retractable utility platform capable of
mounting power, audio, video, and data feeds. It is used to mount and
power devices for lighting, power, audio, video, and data in a prewired
environment. BusPort is constructed of extruded aluminum and
finished in a durable powder coat. The system allows for up to six
circuits of power or three circuits of power and a wide variety of audio
visual connections.
All connections and junctions can be accessed from below the ceiling
making overhead access panels unnecessary. The BusPort receptacle
is designed for use in plaster board or acoustical tile ceilings with a
maximum material thickness of 5/8” [16 mm.]
Each BusPort is equipped with mounting flanges capable of supporting
up to 2500lbs [1134kg]. All mounting points and materials supplied by
others must be able to support the total engineered load.
Any and all members of the truss systems can be non-powered Buspipe
or BusRun – a 20amp continuous plug-in busway system for lighting
power or support. The Video BusPort is a ceiling-mounted retractable
platform capable of providing power video data feed connections and
a mounting platform for a single projector of not more than 25lbs
[11.43kg].
