ADMINISTRATIVE ACTIVITIES
 Infrastructural Development
State of Art Auditorium of IMSEC was inaugurated on 21st April 2012. GBTU
Vice Chancellor Prof. Kripa Shankar inaugurated the auditorium.
CONVOCATION
IMS Engineering College organised its Sixth Convocation on 21st April 2012
at IMSEC auditorium. Convocation was inaugurated by Mr Rajeev Shukla,
Minister of States for Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of India and G.B.T.U Vice –
Chancellor Prof. Kripa Shankar. In total 507 Students of different branches
received degrees. Congratulations to all students for achieving this milestone in
their lives. College Vice Chairman Mr. Rakesh Chariya and respected members
of executive council Mrs. Deepa Chariya, Mr. Sudheer Shukla, Mr. S.K. Rastogi,
Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal and Mr. Ramesh Chaudhary also graced the occasion with
their presence.

ECE DEPARTMENT

Dr. R.N.Baral, Associate Professor, ECE department, has got his paper entitled
“Design and Analysis of Broadband Smart Microstrip Antenna”, accepted to be
published in International Journal of Research in IT, Management and
Engineering, vol. 2, issue.3, April 2012.
 Priyanka Singh, Sonia Singh, Ankita Singh, Anshika Gupta (students) and Mr.
Pankaj Goel, Assistant Professor, ECE dept., have got their paper entitled “K-L
Algorithm Implementation for Efficient VLSI Circuit Partitioning” presented in
National Conference on Emerging Trends In Intelligent Computing &
Communication (EICC-2012), Organized by Department of Information
Technology at Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida
on 13-14 April 2012.
IT DEPARTMENT
 A “BIG-GYAN” Seminar was successfully organized under the guidance of Mr. N.
U. Khan, Mr. Jitender Ahuja and Mr. R. C. Pandey on 31st March, 2012 in IT
Department. There were in total 96 participants from different branches.

ME DEPARTMENT
 IMS has now become the member of Virtual Lab Network. A training program
on “How to use virtual Lab was organized on 30th March 2012. Total 15 faculty
members from ECE, CSE and ME were trained to use the Lab.

inputs”, Chemical Engineering Journal, Volumes 181–182, 2012, Pages 846–850
 S.K. Kalla and V.K. Saini published a paper entitled “On the Thermo-economic

 V.K. Saini, D. Sharma, S.K. Kalla and Tulsi Chouhan published a paper entitled

D. Sharma, V.K. Saini, T. Chouhan published a paper entitled “Implementing
QFD for an Auto Service Station A Case Study” in international conference on
Manufacturing Excellence at Amity School of Engineering & Technology, Amity

Paper entitled “ Impact of scheduling rules on performance of Semi Automated
Flexible Manufacturing system” by Durgesh Sharma has been published in The
National Conference on CAD and Technology (NCCADT-2012)organized by
Maharaja Agrasen Institute Of Technology sector-22, Rohini, Delhi on april 21,
2012 at -110085.
V. K Saini published Paper entitled “Optimization of EDM process parameters
using Taguchi method” in the proceedings of International Conference on
Applications and Design in Mechanical Engineering (ICADME 2012) held during
27- 28 February 2012 at Bayview beach Resort, Penang, Malaysia.
CENTRAL LIBRARY
 IMSEC Central Library was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prof. Kripa Shanker
Vice Chancellor, Gautam Buddha Technical University, Lucknow on 21st April,
2012.
 Central library launched its website (http://172.16.3.1/Library/Index.htm) which
updates users about the library services, activities and also enables users to find
and use our online materials more easily.
 Central Library made Delnet facilities and services available to its faculty, staff
and students.

 Central Library organized an orientation Programme on Delnet Facilities and
Services on 16th April, 2012 for Faculty and Staff Members. Mr. Kushal, Delnet
and Mr. Vinay Kumar Kainthola, Librarian explained the advantages and
benefits of Delnet services and facilities and also gave online demo for the
same.
 The Central Library continues the series of training workshop “How to Use EJournals, OPAC, and Library Index” for B.Tech students to create awareness
about library resources i.e. E-resources, OPAC and Delnet. Workshop has been
conducted for EN (3rd year) and M.E. (4th Year) in the month of April.
 A research paper entitled “Ethics in Research” was published by Mr. Vinay
Kumar Kainthola, Librarian, Central Library in the Indian Journals of Agricultural
Library and Information Services. Vol. 27(2) July-December 2011, (ISSN: 09748776).

SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Prize Distribution Ceremony of Intra college events like Volleyball,
Basketball, Table Tennis, Chess, Football, Power Lifting etc. was held on 7th April
2012.

IT DEPARTMENT
 Mr. Aman Rastogi, IT 3rd year, has successfully participated in the “Certified
Information Security Specialist” workshop conducted by Cyber Cure Solutions at
IIT Delhi on 5th March 2012.
 Mr. Siddhant Singhal, IT 4th year, got the first position in L & T (IN-QUEST)
Engineering Quiz-2012.

 Students of IT have attained one day workshop on “T.I.M.E APTITUTE
WORKSHOP” conduct by T.I.M.E on 28th March 2012. The total number of
participants was 28 from IT 3rd year and 23 from IT 4th year.
 Students of IT have visited the CBI Academy (Career development Centre) on 1st
April 2012.
AS&H DEPARTMENT
Poster Presentation
AS&H department organised Poster presentation competition on 18th April
2012. More than 300 students of first year participated in this competition.
Poster presentation was inaugurated by Hon’ble Director Prof. Prabal K.
Chakravorty.

Society, at ABES Ghaziabad on 24th March 2012.
BT DEPARTMENT
 Vandana Upadhyay, M.Tech Biotechnology, 2nd year student presented a paper
entitled "Insilico analysis of action of antipsychotic analogue on human to
adrenergic receptor" at 4th National Seminar on Recent Approaches in
Environmental Sciences held on 22nd April 2012, organized by Gwalior
Engineering College, Gwalior.
 Neha Singh M.Tech. Biotechnology 2nd Year student along with Dr. Savita
Chaurasia, Professor, Biotechnology, presented a paper entitled "Isolation,
Identification & Cloning of DXS in Pelargonium graveolens leafs" at National
Conference on “Newer Horizons and Innovations in Biotechnology &
Biosciences” (NHIBB-2012), held on April 7-8, 2012 at RBS Engineering
Technical Campus, Agra.
MBA DEPARTMENT
 Inter-Departmental Fest- MBA students participated in the interdepartmental
cultural fest Entrudo ’12. The fest involved 4 departments – MBA, MCA, CS & IT.
There were various events as part of the fest with the approaching flowery
SPRING as the theme.
 Educational trip to Singapore- 14 students went on a 5 day educational trip to
Singapore from 5th April, ’12 to 10th April’12. Students apart from exploring the
culture and experiencing the developed market’ business models – underwent
an extended session with Mr. Ramesh Brahmadathan- GM – 701search.com.

ME DEPARTMENT
 Mechfair’2012, the annual fest of Mechanical Engineering students was
organized by Mechedge, a society of Mechanical Engineering students of
IMSEC, on March 24, 2012. The supporting team of society included many
students who co-ordinated the fest successfully. Director, IMSEC, Dr. Prabal K.
Chakravorty awarded the prizes and certificates to the winners of the Technical
Events.

 "Anusandhan'12", an exhibition of research/project work carried out by
students of IMSEC was organized on 30th March 2012 at B-block of the
college. Total 42 teams participated in the event. Students have display their
innovation, knowledge and skills in various areas. Team consists of Anubhav
Ojha, Sumit Kumar, Abhishek Reuben and Jaspreet Singh won the overall first
prize.
