Our Guiding Mission
Missoula Parks and Recreation is essential to the quality
and way of life for individuals, families, community, and the
environment. Our guiding mission is to enhance the quality of
life in our community by:
• Promoting health and wellness.
• Stimulating (supporting and encouraging successful)
community and economic development.
Missoula Mayor John Engen
Our generous community understands that we’re all in this together,
which is why Missoula is a city rich
with open spaces and lots of places
to run, walk, hike and play. We have
places to swim and splash and smile
year round, again thanks to a generous community. I hope you have a
chance to enjoy our parks, our open
spaces, our trails, our pools, our splash decks, our fields
and our many programs. Rich or poor, young or old, we’re all
in this together and our parks and recreation programs are
the tangible result of our commitment to each other. Please
enjoy Missoula.

PICKLEBALL
Pickleball for all ages
An addictive game with a peculiar name. Parks and Recreation
is pleased to continue our popular Open Play sessions, Learn to
Play clinics, and Ladder League. We’ll have another great season
of indoor play at the MPR Sports & Wellness Center, clinics, and
tournaments to the growing list of Pickleball opportunities!
Pickleball has been compared to a miniature version of tennis and
an oversized game of ping-pong played on a badminton-sized
court. The game is played with wooden or composite paddles and
a whiffle ball. The ideal game, full of action and fun for all ages!

Indoor Co-Rec Doubles Ladder League
Put your pickleball skills to the test with similarly skilled players!
Ladders are a fun way to compete with fellow pickleball players.
Ladder participants play one match per week, and move up or
down the ladder based on their overall points earned. We will
group foursomes each week based on your point percentage. The
idea is that you will move up or down the ladder and eventually
settle into play at your skill level. As players improve, you may see
them move up and compete at a higher level!
