APPLICATION The XLS-MM-Z Interface Module allows a Honeywell XLS140 intelligent fire alarm control panel to interface and monitor twowire conventional smoke detectors. All 2-wire detectors must be listed as compatible with the module. The module is addressed through the XLS140 intelligent signaling line circuit. When the module is interrogated, it transmits the status of one zone of 2-wire detectors to the intelligent control panel. Status conditions are reported as normal, trouble, or alarm. All Rights Reserved Two rotary decade switches allow the setting of module addresses from 01-99 when using Honeywell CLIP protocol, or from 01-159 when using FlashScan™ signaling line circuit communication protocol. A status LED indicator is provided and is controlled by command from the XLS140 Fire Alarm Control Panel. All wiring from the conventional loop is optically isolated from the primary communication loop of the intelligent system. The existing conventional zone circuit end-of-line resistor (EOLR) must be replaced with the 3.9K EOLR that is included with the XLS-MM-Z.
